Crystal Asian Cuisine — Restaurant in Town of Amherst

We made an online order through the restaurant’s website to be picked up at 4:30 pm. I arrived around 4:17, knowing I was early and that I might have to wait. There was confusion about the order. It could not be found and I was told that there was no order. After 3 people looked for this order in different ways, using different devices, the order was found. I was asked to sit and wait while the food was prepared. Everything was done by 4:37 pm. 2 stars for service based on the quick preparation. At home, we found that the containers had leaked sauce in the carryout bag. The fried dumplings came without dipping sauce. The spring rolls were oily and two had no filling, one did, and the last spring roll was thrown away. The red bean buns had a sweet filling but the bun didn’t have flavor. These will be thrown away. The broccoli chicken was under-seasoned and not flavorful. A disappointing entree. The last dinner has not been tasted yet. On the whole this is a one and done experience. A quaint little restaurant on the corner next to the gas station. You’d never know how amazing the food is here if you didn’t pop in for a quick bite. We definitely took our time enjoying the deliciously cooked food here and they were very friendly with quick service.

I’d like to point out the authenticity and the Taiwanese style based cooking they use (in some dishes) which is something I always look out for. Its similar to my grandparents cooking which is in my book very high praise! It’s really hard to find food cooked this well and it didn’t feel too heavy or oily.

I’ve been here a few times and the consistency has never changed nor disappointed me. This is one of my top picks for local Chinese/Taiwanese style...

One of my go-to spots to get authentic Chinese food. I almost always get the steamed fish with ginger and scallion. Staff is really nice and their dim sum menu is also really good. Had an Uber eats driver drop off the wrong order once and i called in and had to pick up the correct order. They were super nice and apologetic.

Edit: (September 2024) I think they’re under new management. Prices got higher and food quality got lower. I ordered Hainan chicken over rice and tastes totally different from before. Sadly will have to find a new place...
