We hit upon this historic site (dating to 1887) after luckily staying nearby. We entered into a friendly and bustling vibe, replete with some preserved period details, full of a multi-generational crowd having a loud drink and a laugh for an early Tuesday dinner. The host and server were impeccably nice, and the service was familiar, personal, and boisterous. The crowd trended older with a welcoming spirit, with the effect almost like “Cheers” at the right moment in the right light. We overheard some loud and treasured stories by the bar that seemed to call back to the nights when friends and strangers slapped backs in the years of the stage coach. The establishment clearly takes pride in their food, and has a drink for every palate. The artichoke dip was “the best I’ve ever had,” while the cup of lobster bisque hit the mark. The Greek salad was perfectly charming and hearty, while the salmon special with chili glaze came with savory mashed potatoes and gravy and some steamed vegetable sides. The summer ale on draft and cold glass of blanc were fresh. The boy was happy with homemade spaghetti and meatballs and refills of house-made lemonade. The tavern is a mission-driven restaurant that wants to offer good food done well with a down to earth ambiance. We saw someone celebrating their 60th birthday in the back, and got the impression we knew why they chose the place. It’s a quality meal out for the buck. Our waitress worked hard - always in motion - and had a sharp mind matched only by a sharper wit.

This is a wonderful historic find in the heart of Williamsville, NY, which is also very historic! Despite it's name as a "tavern," don't expect your usual pub fare! Glen Park offers everything from one of the best hand-carved beef-on-weck (a local specialty) and turkey sandwiches to fantastic burgers, seafood, and entrees! During the holidays, the bar offers a killer Tom & Jerry! As many times as I've visited or have taken out, I find it hard to get past their Sacré Bleu burger. Unlike other burgers that are topped with bleu cheese, this one is stuffed with it! Perfectly charred on the outside, once you cut into it, the bleu cheese oozes out to create a glorious burger that I've found hard to match anywhere! It's also accompanied by your choice of potatoes. Their hand-cut fries are pure perfection! If you're a seafood lover, I can also vouch for their beer battered fish fry with a choice of mini or regular. Trust me, the mini is enough to feed an army! Their Haddock Française is a delightful twist on Chicken Française! You can't go wrong with anything that you order here. The only that prevents me from giving them a 5* rating is the noise level, although that could be expected in an historic setting with the lower ceilings of the time! The Glen Park Tavern is truly a local gem! Whether you're from the area or visiting, I would definitely add this to your list of "where to dine!"

This historic restaurant was once owned by famous Buffalo attorney and judge, James Kane, then named Kane's Red Carpet. After being absent from the area for a while and returning, I found the ambience and decor welcoming and warm, yet familiar, hearkening me back to when it was The Red Carpet. The piano bar is long gone, but the restaurant has filled in the space nicely. An ode to the judge ("Judge's Chambers") hangs on the wall behind the main bar. Numerois historical photos of the restaurant and neighborhood can be found throughout. My niece and I stopped in for a late lunch, after picking her up from the airport. My mom (her grandmother) had worked there when the judge owned it so we were curious and wanted to check it out. We ordered the gouda burger and Cajun cod from the friendly waitress. Both were excellent and prepared to perfection. The waitress checked on our service the right amount of times and thanked us for coming there. Even the bar staff thanked us and said goodbye on our way out, as people were gathering at the bar after work. This entire experience rekindled wonderful memories of our times there in the 1980s. It was well worth the decision to eat there. We, and more of my family, will return.

This really nice and quaint little tavern with booth, table, or bar seating will take you back to small town days. We were seated immediately and Michelle greeted us with a smile and prompt first drinks. Shortly after, our food orders were taken, and we learned a shift change would be in middle of our stay. Before we knew it, our waitress Michelle and our new waitress, Jamie, were bringing our food out in unison. There was no confusion between shift change employees, and the waitresses didn't miss a beat. Quick and awesome chef. Our food was well presented and delicious. The beef is freshly hand sliced; as is the corned beef, and the thousand island dressing is home made and delicious. Wings cooked precise to order. Jamie made sure we received anything additional we might have needed and Michelle even brought us extra bread plates on her way out the door. Thank you, to all the staff for making our stay such a pleasure. (Only wish the inspirational 444 meal inventor, William, had stopped in for a meal so we could meet him :D But, we enjoyed it so much that it really didn't 'Mattar' )

When my dad called me on a Thursday night craving a Thanksgiving style turkey dinner, I went on a mission to find a place to go! I was thrilled to see Glen Park Tavern in Williamsville offering hand carved turkey on their regular menu!! Glen Park Tavern absolutely hits the spot—with hearty, comfort-food done right! We came in on a busy night but still had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The hostess and our server were both incredibly warm and welcoming. We were lucky enough to be seated in a cozy private spot tucked away by the windows—everything I was hoping for! The turkey dinner was exactly what you'd want: generous portion, cooked perfectly, and with all the classic fixings of stuffing and mashed potatoes. I ordered the whitefish francais which was fantastic as well! Glen Park Tavern is a local staple that's clearly been around a long time for good reason! Can’t wait to come back!
