I would have loved to give this park 5 stars because it really is an awesome place for the kids. The only negative I have to say is that the life guards are oblivious. Today while we were there at 2pm there was a little boy that was maybe 1 1/2 to 2 years of age and he got knocked over while in the water and could not get back up. My boyfriend had to get in the water to help him. The adults responsible for this child had no idea nor were they paying attention to this child nor did the life guards have a clue. It's sandwiched between streets lined with lovely older homes, beautiful large mature trees and filled with the swing set seats and a splash pool. As a kid I remember driving my bicycle through it just on my way to another place and I always thought that this would be an awesome Park to like be looking at from my house and live across the street. It's kind of special he probably have to come visit it to really know what it's about but I've seen tons of families with their children it's just beaming with life and love. And for those just curious how Garrison Park got its name at the corner of Main and Garrison Road or Barracks that helps soldiers during...
Read moreA lovely little park with a free wading pool for kids. They provide a bunch of water toys as well. The pool is ideal for smaller kids but plenty of teens and adults soak their feet in the pool or sit in the shallow water. There's also a sand box with a bunch of Tonka trucks and shovels, a nice little playground, and some basketball hoops. There's a nice water fountain with a water bottle filling station. The only con is the only bathrooms are porta pottys that are not super clean. There's a frozen yogurt place right in walking distance too. Nice afternoon...
