Monterrey's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Arcadia

I have been going to eat here for years. The food is great if you can get past the service, let me explan. The last few times the service has been maybe at a 7. This last visit was 0. They sat us quickly as usual. Brought Chips and salsa and we asked for the warm cheese dip to have with it. We were told yes they would get it. The waitress came to the table and ask what we would,like,to drink. We ordred frozen drinks. She asked if we're ready to order as well. This is nothing new sense we pretty much always know before we get there. This is not the first time we were given this particular waitress. We talk and ate the chips and waited for the cheese dip. About 10 min. Still no drinks! After a few more chips with hot sauce and cheese,I was,getting more thirsty. Finally I just stopped eating. Waiting for my drink and she ran just mine to tje table. "I did not forget you. I was making your drinks!" As she walked away. Waited and our dinner came. Now,we havw had 3,different people waiting on us. Then as we,just looked at each other ready to walk out, they bring out husbands drink. The food is that good. And yes,my husband ordered pork and it was far from dry as we were told by a waitress at Captain Jacks! After we ate,we received out check. She ran our card and brought back a check that was more than the check she gave us. My husband pointed out the difference. She grabbed the check and crumbled it up in her hand." That was because I did not add,the cheese dip to your bill" with A huge attitude as if it was our fault. "Well that happens when you do not order it from me" I said really. The cheese took for ever the drinks came after the food and you run our card with out telling us it was more!! She tossed the receipt on the table while I was letting her know my disappointment in here service and he ethics, and said "Oh well" and mumbled under her breath as she cleaned up the table behind us. We sat and finished our drinks,as the servers were laughing aloud with them selves. No oppolagies. They even stood away from the door when we left. No how was everything, thank you for coming, have a good night. Nothing. I do not recommended eating here unless you can,get passed tje large blonde lady that you may get as a waitress. Such a disappointment because I loved eating there food. We went there though all tje different owners over the years and they always had assume service. I have ordered here several times over the last five years. I work in Newark down the street and sometimes my co workers and I will order takeaway. The food has been consistently good. I have never had anything I didn't like from there. My criticism was the service that I or more accurately my co worker received yesterday when she went to pick up our takeaway order. Three of us ordered food and two co workers wanted to pay with their debit cards and I used cash. My co worker was told she couldn't have separate bills and pay for each order individually. She then asked the person who waited on her if she could pay partially in cash and the rest on a card and was told no. She was spoken to rudely. The woman claimed they were too busy to do it that way and went on to tell my co worker that she had been nice enough to give us free tortilla chips and salsa and that she "didn't have to do that". She is right, she didn't have to do that we didn't ask for it, but don't throw it back in someone's face, just because you are displeased with the idea of three separate bills. Most disappointing was that this woman was rude to my colleague who is barely 21 years of age and the sweetest person you'll ever meet and I'm sure my colleague was nothing but polite to this woman. I suggest this woman at Monterrey adjust her attitude. For a small business in a small town you can't afford to alienate...

Would have loved to give this place more reviews but I've been here several times now and the food is super good. No problem with the food so to the chefs, you are doing great! However I was there the other day with my niece and it was about 6pm and barley anyone other people were eating there at that time. Long story short our waitress who I believe wasn't even the waitress maybe a manager? Older lady took forever. Once we finally got our food she didn't come over once after that to check on us or to see if we needed anything. I eventually got up and asked her if we could please get more water since we had been out of some for a while. She said yes. We waited for 15 minutes and still no water. It was ridiculous. I just wanted my check. 30 mins went by and nothing so I got up and went to the counter and asked for my bill from the sane lady. She didn't apologize or anything.
