1st time at this place and not planning to go back. Food was great, no complaints there. Service could've been better, but I think I know why now.
When I came into the store, an older woman was upfront by the registar. She saw me come in and stand on line to place my order, however she was busy having a conversation with a gentleman and just ignored me. Eventually someone else took my order. Place looks nice, so I chose to eat there. I waited a few minutes for someone to charge me so I could sit down. I stood there for a while but after a few minutes I asked the older lady if I could pay for my order, she pointed to someone else and said "she'll be happy to take your money". I didn't think anything of it, figured she was being funny and just smiled. I paid and sat down. My food came out a few minutes later. The older lady went on to clean tables, sweep the floor... I was enjoying my food, watching TV and than this lady said something about cops approaching a woman outside in the parking lot. She was watching from the window. She started going on and on about how glad she was that the cops were taking this woman. At one point she referred to the woman outside as a monkey. At this point I realized she was being racist. She went on and on about how this woman is always around and how disgusting she is and how she needs to go to a shelter... Her presence clearly bothered her. A gentleman in the store went on to tell her it was rude to use that word and that some people take offense to it. At this point the woman turned around and looked at me. She apologized in a sarcastic manner. When I looked out the window I realized she was referring to a woman of color (a homeless brown woman). I happen to be brown myself. Needless to say I was very uncomfortable by this situation, so I took my food and left. I felt sorry for that woman. She didn't realize how awful she was behaving, and how rude. She had two hispanic women behind the counter working their buts off. She didn't care. She was very rude and disrespectful. I would recommend you go somewhere else if this kind of behavior bothers you. Than again, if you feel the same way as this woman I guess this place is...
Read moreWell it's been a yr coming here. And I gotta say. Try hiring people with some type of service skill. Not just take the order. Then someone else says gimme your money. Nice customer service. Gimme. This place is hit or miss. I've called and gotten my order. But it's been wrong way to much. Then today. Drove by the store. Definitely open. But my 7 phonecalls. We're left unanswered. I could understand one maybe two. But 7. And then calling back an eighth time. And now the phone is busy. Something is fishy here. I know, they don't want my business. Well guess what. I don't want yours either. And when the people read my reviews. They'll go elsewhere as well. Trust me there are hundreds of delis all over north Babylon and Deer Park. Try first Class. They may be a little more expensive. But they don't talk down to you and demand your money after you order. And guess what the order is and was correct. I came here after I was ignored 7 times trying to place and order. Get your act together. And maybe I'll...
Read moreLeaving 2 stars because the bagels are really good. But I'm from MD and thought they were so good I'd order a dozen, 9 plain 3 wheat was my order. I called the order in and picked them up before making the drive home and didn't think I needed to count them. I'm not sure if someone doesn't know what a dozen is or maybe doesn't know how to read an order ticket and count, but I only got 7 bagels, 2 wheat and 5 plain, of the 9 plain and 3 wheat I ordered. It's ridiculous I paid for a dozen and was shorted 5 bagels and didn't even realize until I went to put them in my freezer. Absolutely ridiculous. If you order a dozen bagels, make sure you count them, especially if you are taking them back home out of...
