This week on Monday I pulled out a dress I hadn't worn in 2 years for a wedding I need to attend on Sunday. I had been putting it off, but I just knew it wasn't going to fit anymore and to no one's surprise it did not. I could not get the zipper up in the back and looked in my area for someone. This shop was the second result but I just had a good feeling and saw the great reviews.

They are closed Tues and Thurs and I missed being able to come in Monday before closing. Gina told me to come Wednesday and they would have it ready by Sat, or call me if they finished before that. She gave my two little ones lollipops and both ladies in the shop were so nice and friendly. They happened to have the material for a dress in a similar color and Agnes turned the zipper into a corset back. I am here now, Friday picking up the dress. I was so afraid earlier this week I would have no dress for Sunday, that on such short notice no one would get it done. But I now have my dress and it fits amazing. I highly recommend this business to anyone needing alterations.

Updating for a visit in June 2025. My daughter needed a slight alteration for her prom dress. Her grandma was supposed to do it but a few days before prom she said she didn’t feel confident that she could do it. So we went came back here on a Saturday, and they had the alteration done by Wednesday. Still extremely happy with the shop and the work they do. The owner Gina and her colleague are the best! These two ladies are the definition of perfect seamstresses. I came from Canada to the US in early February 2021, purchased a wedding gown only 2 WEEKS before my wedding (March 6th 2021) at Luxe and Lace bridal and these amazing women altered my dress in only 1 WEEK!

They totally know what they are doing. Their measurements are so perfect. My wedding gown (size 10) was downsized to a size 8 and it looks way better then the original fitting! My wedding gown has a lot of detail on it (Pearls, crystals) and is really heavy! It wasn't an easy job but they pulled it like champs. I have no complaints and usually im a really picky and hard bride/person. If you have any questions, they will answer you and will suggest you the best options for alterations.

Also, the price is the best in the whole city. Compared to many other bridal alteration shops, Gina's store offer the greatest price! The business is located in a small shop but dont be fooled. When I was looking for a store online, I wasn't sure about Gina's store because it looked like a small local shop. I wondered if they could pull this job. But honestly, these woman could compete against the best seamstresses out there.

Ill stop here due to the length of my review. They deserve the best review, they did an amazing job. I would recommend this store to anyone who's looking to alter their wedding gown by the best on Long Island!

BUYER BEWARE !!! Not sure where the old positive reviews of @Alterations Unlimited by Gina come from but my wife and daughters real experience has been horrendous. How many tailors/seamstresses cut material to hem a dress without pinning or measuring ??? .... just takes out the scissor, cuts material, then tells you how much it will cost and says " I am a professional, I don't need to pin" .... doesn't write down that customer wanted hem "just like original" and creates a sloppy hem-line ... It gets better .... the top needs alteration, "the professional" says to add straps to adjust - TO A STRAPLESS DRESS ! ! Only takes cash ... no register in store... NYS and IRS are you paying attention, are taxes being paid ??... Needless to say the dress has been taken to a professional seamstress who practices true customer service... NOT HERE !
