My friend and I came in tonight (June 26, 2024) with our two children to eat dinner and check out the advertised Tiki Night. We live in the neighborhood and were really excited for the establishment to come to Lindenhurst, as we are big fans of the Bayshore location. We've come a few times prior and have had fine service. Tonight, when we walked in at 6:50pm, we were told they were cleaning a table for us. As they were cleaning the table, a larger party walked in behind us (no reservations, as I spoke to them because they were frustrated that no one addressed or acknowledged them) and said that they (the manager and hostess) were cleaning a table for us and should be with them shortly. When they went to seat us, we were sat at a table in a room, with a light off, that clearly was silent and isolated from the rest of the restaurant. I asked politely if we could sit in the main dining room, and the hostess said that "they only had high tops available." However, this was not the case 5 minutes earlier, as she pointed to the table she was cleaning for us (before the other large group walked in). I kind of pushed as to why we weren't getting the original table as promised and she said that the big party walked in so they were sitting them there. Reluctantly, we sat at the quiet table in the back. I went to the bathroom, came back and noticed no one had addressed/greeted our table.
We felt really isolated and overall it was just really sad. We're two mothers with our 2 year old and 6 month old child trying to enjoy the atmosphere and we were just written off to the back room. I mentioned this to the manager and just explained how turned off and wildly uncomfortable we were (being put in a closed room with no music and the lights were originally off and no server even came to the table, 8 minutes into us sitting, to greet us), ad that we just wanted to leave.
Overall, this was just a really upsetting experience and it is hard to support an establishment that treats their...
Read moreCame here for a late lunch on a Sunday with a decent sized party of 6 and was able to be sat right away. Was very excited to try the newest addition to the Lindenhurst main strip and it certainly did not disappoint. Loved the ambiance, the building used to be an old bank and there are a lot of little touches that they kept around that add a lot of local charm. Would definitely love to really explore the bar area more the next time I stop by. Seating can be a little tight, but not too bad.
Service was exceptional. Our server, Amanda, was not only incredibly attentive, she was fun and really helped bring the whole experience to the top level. If I could I'd ask for her everytime!
Despite being affiliated with Great South Bay Brewery, the place has a lot more to offer than just beer for drinks, but of course the beer selection is not to be slept on and updates frequently. They also offer wine, cocktails, soft drinks, and even mocktails which were all great options for our mixed party of drinkers.
They might be brewery first but the food here was delicious too! For appetizers we got the pretzels, the nachos, and the Mediterranean platter to share. You might not think it, but the pita platter was actually my favorite, very fresh and different than just your typical bar food you'd expect. For the main I got the Mulberry Street Panino, which was a little messy but very delicious. Everything on the menu looked great and I'd be absolutely stoked to try all their options, and especially eager to get down there for brunch some time.
Parking on wellwood in my opinion is chaos, but there are luckily a bunch of municipal lots nearby (paid and unpaid) that you can use that are far...
Read moreFood very good, people very very helpful and patient. The new food ordering system - horrible. Two parties at one table, ordered separately and the food shows up 10 mins apart; do we eat or wait for their food to show up-very uncomfortable. You have to order food/drinks on an app - now I have to figure out when to order app/entree/drinks to be spaced apart? Have to ‘remember’ to watch your drink level so you can order on the app or excuse yourself from the table and order at the bar. My husband drank two beers that night, if we had a waitress he would have had, at the least, five. The pictures and beer ounce sizes on the app need to be updated. Oh and if you order the roast beef, you have to remember to select the au jus as an “add-on”. I witnessed three separate couples walk in, sit at a table and after 10 mins got up and walked out. This has got to be a huge money loser for the business. If you want this to be successful, get rid of the food - only promote yourself as a brewery and give out bags of chips. This may not be the best model for a restaurant where people want to hang out with friends and eat/drink and not be on their phone the entire night ordering drinks or waiting at the bar. We have been here several times in the past and had a great experience, but with new system we will not...
