IHOP — Restaurant in Town of Babylon

I placed an order to go at IHOP in Lindenhurst. When I arrived to pick up my order, I noticed that there was only one person working besides the cook. This individual was multitasking by waiting on tables, answering phones, and taking and preparing to-go orders.

Given that I had placed a large order, I requested to review the order with the employee before leaving. He assured me that everything would be correct and handed me three bags containing my food. However, upon inspecting the contents of the first bag, I discovered that the French toast with strawberries and bananas was incorrect. When I asked for the strawberries compote, I was informed that they were out of stock, which I found hard to believe.

Furthermore, the two combo platters I ordered with eggs over easy arrived with well-done eggs, and the bacon cheeseburger that was supposed to be plain had an unexpected sauce on it. Additionally, the two kids' meals with chocolate chip pancakes that I requested to have bananas added to were missing the bananas and other components that were supposed to accompany the meal.

This experience was not an isolated incident, as I have encountered issues with orders from this IHOP location in the past. Whether it was their limited hours (before 24 hours) for to-go orders or consistently incorrect orders, my recent experience was the final straw. After spending $120 on a meal that no one in my family could fully enjoy, I realized that this IHOP location is not the place for me.

I simply seek a dining establishment that can consistently and accurately prepare meals for my family to enjoy. Unfortunately, this IHOP location in Lindenhurst has repeatedly failed to meet...

Arrived around 10:30am for breakfast at Ihop # 2038 located at Sunrise hwy Lindenhurst. We were a group of 5 and seated almost immediately which was good considering it was a Sunday morning at 10:30am. Took about 10 minutes for out waitress Natassia to get our drink order. We decided to order out food at the same time. Coffee came out about 20 minutes after. We where told that the coffee is currently being brewed however other tables where observed getting their coffee soon after we where told that it was brewing. We still had to wait another 10 minutes of so to obtain out coffee. Once receiving the coffee i had to ask for silverware. I could not stir the milk in my coffee because i did not have a spoon. When i got up and requested the silverware I observed a considerable amount of staff members crowded around in an area that was labled for employees only. After asking for silverware it was another 10 minutes before we received it. The food eventually came out and 2 out of 5 orders were wrong. 1 of the orders came out cold. I never received my correct order even after being told another order would be placed with the chef. Well after waiting about another 30 minutes for my bacon and cheese omelette, it never showed. After 2 cups of coffee ( only 2 because I ran out of creamer. I figured if i asked for more creamer i would not get it anyway.)we asked for the bill which did not give you an option not to tip. While the waitress was very nice, the service was terrible and I will definitely think 5 times or maybe more before going...

I'm changing my rating from 5 stars to 1.We have been coming here since the place first opened. What kept us coming back was the friendly and efficient service. On Saturday 10/9 at 10am the experience totally changed. Hostess was not friendly. Despite the fact that the place was not full and that there were many empty tables she told us the wait would be 15 minutes.. I asked her if she needed my name on her list she simply said no. ONE minute later she asked us to follow her to a table, making us wonder why she had said 15 min in the first place.. had she hoped that the prospect of waiting would have discouraged us and make us leave? We waited at a tablea full 10 minutes before being acknowledged. No one said that they'd be right with us, no eye contact, no smile. Finally the expressionless server came. When he brought our coffees I stirred the sugar in with a straw since we had no utensils. When he finally brought utensils he placed them on table edge and kept walking..not a word or smile.. ..I felt like this place was operated by robots..Bacon was burnt...To boot they gave us the wrong check from another party..... When we left the hostess didnt even say good bye .. To be fair I don't think she saw us leave. Her head was down on her cell phone she was playing some kind of video game or texting.. The whole experience was so out of character from the place we knew and loved..please go back to previous staff and/or management before you lose business. We will try you one more time.maybe this...
