Mariam's Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Babylon

We really enjoyed a tasty halal Moroccan food at Mariam's Cafe today. Though it's a small joint with 3 tables only but the food was excellent. The owner is very friendly. He made us feel at home. Food came out quickly. We ordered roasted chicken with veggies and olives, Arabian rice, and chicken tanjine. Meat was soft and juicy.

Our most favorite was Moroccan mint tea. It is so fragrant and delicious.

I would recommend anyone and everyone to give it a try. The owners welcoming personality will certainly make it a memorable experience for you.

They have 2 menus, one with more generic food, which is available all 7 days and special catering menu, which is (selected dishes every week) available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Special menu varies from Moroccan, Italian, Spanish, and American. So call or check their social media before going over the weekend to see what they are serving. We wanted to try Moroccan cuisine, and luckily, they had a Moroccan menu for this weekend.

My husband saw this on FB and so we had to give this a go. Let me tell you, it’s all about flavours! The individual dishes the owners make is superb, and each to its own holds down well!!!! We tried all the dishes that were laid out on the Friday's specials and the ice tea with mint!!! You have to try the ice tea when you pop in. They allowed us to sit and eat and served us well, and for that we are grateful as they were closing soon.

We will be back for breakfast as I heard that is something different. The owners were super sweet and talked about food from different countries, flavours and he would not give away too much secret ingredients on his own dishes! Haha

Had high expectations for his place based on the reviews but was disappointed. The employee told me majority of the menu items were not available because it was after the holiday’s but that’s not a good enough reason in my opinion. The staff recommended the cutlet but it was dry and wasn’t very good at all, very basic and boring. Can barely finish it because it tasted very bland and very bad. While waiting, the staff didn’t offer any water or tea even though I thought this place was a cafe. I requested to use the bathroom and the response was this place is upside down, not sure what that means. Regardless I give this place two stars because the guy working there seemed like a decent person and I didn’t want to give it 1 star because it wasn’t a terrible experience,...
