So I was a guest at this hotel for 2 weeks back in Christmas 2024. I'm also African American. Let's just say the 2nd day I felt so uncomfortable I wanted to check out. The clerk who checked me in was very nice and over accommodating this soon changed..
I was put on the forth floor. It would appear house keeping didn't check everything in the room. There was no hot water in the face basin pipe and the shower took about 10 minutes to get hot. The drapes were hanging uneven and the lights shining in from the air strip made it difficult for me to fall asleep. The sink was also clogged. Last but not least the heat stop working after 2 days.
When I reported the things that needed fixing it was as if I was being dismissed by the maintenance crew. I had to insist that the things I reported was indeed not working.
I tried to remain in the room but after a failed attempt to remedy the problems in the room I decided I wanted to change room. I told the overnight clerk who told me she made a note in an email chain.
I also called the morning and the morning clerk confirm she saw the note. I had business to do so when I got back I called the front desk to tell them I was back in my room and they could make arrangements to switch my room.
By this time the evening clerk who kept putting me on hold every single time I called the front desk, told me when she finally picked up the phone, that she didn't see any email and that the shift had just changed.
I have a disability I'm diagnosed with bipolar. I also have OCD and I'm a germophobe. This hotel was anything but accommodating with someone with a disability in my opinion. One morning I was 4 minutes early for breakfast because I was leaving early the morning. I was told by the 2 clerks working that I had to wait until 6 although the breakfast was ready and no guests was around.
I always tried to be the first one for breakfast because if anyone stands over the food or doesn't use a utensil or keeps feeling up the food I can't eat it. I missed breakfast a few times because of this.
The supervisor Durrel made reference to my debit card being a walmart card in a condesending tone, when $10 was taken out of my account without my authorization by the male clerk on duty after I checked out the first week. At first I was told no monies was taken out of my account.
After I took a screen shot of my online statement and email it to Durrel I was then told it was a charge from the prior week which was a lie. The money was taken out the 2nd week I checked in. I am yet to get back the $10 dollars.
Theresa was the only clerk who tried to make my stay comfortable. Had it not been for her I would have checked out the 2nd day at the hotel.
The staff kept ignoring my calls. For the first week I had to sleep on dirty sheets and keep begging for service I never received. Even when the TV wasn't working I was told there was no one to fix it.
I was promised reward points by Durrel that I didn't receive over a week later. When I called to redeem my points from my 2 weeks stay I was put on hold 5 times. I gave my telephone number and full name and email address and was told by the clerk they couldn't find my account.
I finally had enough and told the clerk she could take the points and push it where the sun don't shine.
I'm yet to get an apology and was told Im not welcome back at the hotel. This is my true experience staying...
Read moreLast night, the night of my wedding, was completely ruined by your staff at the courtyard farmingdale airport. I have summarized the events of the day below.
Last week Dannie confirmed for me that all rooms will be guaranteed for my entire block regardless of the time we got there. However around 6 pm, just before I was getting ready to walk down the aisle to marry my husband my maid of honor received a call from your hotel interrogating her as to why she hadn’t checked in and if she doesn’t check in ASAP they were releasing the room. Completely unacceptable.
When we arrived to the hotel, the front desk person Jose was extremely rude. He completely ignored every question I asked and just kept shrugging his shoulders saying I don’t know. He couldn’t tell me who had checked in, if we still had rooms, or why 10 of my 14 bags were still behind him. I watched him check in one of my groomsmen directly before me and fail to give him a bag. Yet he failed to take responsibility again shrugging his shoulders and saying not my fault I just got here.
After about 20 minutes arguing with Jose we finally got checked in. Tried to enjoy the rest of our time downstairs and find out which of our friends and family didn’t receive a thank you bag. We finally go to our room around 3 am only to find it was never cleaned. The bed was not made, the bathroom had towels all over the floor, trash full and toilet not even flushed. I again called Jose from our room to let him know. I sat in silence as he said nothing not even an apology. I had to ask him multiple times if he was there when all he said on the phone was “yup”. My husband then went downstairs and came back with some sort of maintenance looking man covered in paint, he walked in the room laughed in our face and shrugged his shoulders. We spent the next hour arguing with Jose in which his only response was “there’s nothing I can do, it’s 3 am there is no one to clean the room and no other rooms available”. Zero apologies for the bride and groom who had 14 rooms booked with your hotel. 4 am and still in my wedding dress I had to get in my car and go home because your hotel could not accommodate us on our wedding day. I asked Jose multiple times for a receipt as proof that he was refunding us and the multiple other rooms that were leaving as well and he refused.
I am absolutely appalled by the treatment...
Read moreI was visiting there for my sisters wedding (Little/Austin Wedding). There were actually 5 wedding parties in the hotel this weekend. However, my room was not that of a typical courtyard stay. First off, the bathroom needed maintenance such as the shower head mechanism was hanging off from the wall. The WiFi didn’t work and my TV was occasionally working. The carpets were severely stained which also probably contributed to the odor, in and out of the room.
Throughout the stay I saw plenty of maintenance employees standing around “hitting” & “flirting” with patrons coming into the hotel but not working. My daughter was one of the patrons as we entered the hotel on Saturday night, one of the guys (in a Marriott maintenance uniform) was so persistent in trying to “Flirt” with my daughter, that my nephew had to intervene and tell the gentleman she wasn’t interested in anything he was talking about. Disgusting and Unprofessional!
I was going to ask for assistance for my concerns during my stay but “one” of the staff (on Friday afternoon/evening was so rude to a women in front of me who simply asked for a blanket for her sofa bed I just decided to be quiet and get through the weekend. So I dealt with this till Sunday. I was there for a one time event and hated where my sister had all of our family staying. My cousin who was staying at the hotel was removed by police as a result of a false report by a Marriott staff member that “she was pushed”. It later revealed via cameras that the staff person lied. Therefore, we are dealing with employees who have “questionable” character and integrity and for that I am completely disgusted and as a avid Marriott customer that travels 2-4 times monthly for work I’m really wondering what happened to the great customer service that Marriott is built on. That was a waste of my money because my daughter was harassed, staff lied on my cousin who was removed and couldn’t stay where family was staying, the hotel was filthy all over, from the elevators to the hallways and I will never get this time back to enjoy my family in a relaxing professional atmosphere.
I’m disappointed and I’m open to have a conversation about this because something MUST be done to compensate this...
