I can't say enough good things about Gotham City Games and Collectibles! The owners are incredibly supportive of all the players, and are willing to host events for both popular and less popular games. They keep the store family-friendly and clean, and it's a place I feel comfortable bringing my young daughter.
Impressively, they've been able to host large events for games like Magic and Pokemon, seem to have great turnouts for games like Force of Will, Dragonball, and Flesh and Blood TCG, and one night I stopped in they had around 30 people playing Super Smash Bros.! If you told me a store on Long Island would eventually be hosting 30 Smash Bros. players when I was in my teens I would have thought you were crazy, but here we are!
Also, their prices are great and the events I've played in have had very generous prize support. Bob and Mike take their events seriously, and go above and beyond to ensure the events are run smoothly and everyone is having a good time.
I'm so glad Gotham City Games opened around the corner from me and look forward to being a part of their community for many...
Read moreI have been coming to this shop for quite a few years now and I can wholesomely say that this shop and management do right by their customers. Always a clean environment. Their inventory consists of a vast selection of games of great variety that any tabletop gamer new or veteran can find a genre to their liking. Plenty of space to play and a welcoming temperature with proper cooling in the air that keeps the facility cool even when they are full of customers. Any store news is promptly shown on the screens and the management is always ready to assist customers with anything else they might require. Family friendly environment that I would recommend to anyone looking for a local game store (LGS) to call home. I've been to plenty of shops on long island and even some in NYC and this shop is by far priced fairer, stocked better, and managed better...
Read moreStore guys was nice , my problem was the judge who decided to side with my opponent just because he knew him. Playing a treasure cup tournament and my opponent forgot to stand his don after ending his turn from his blocker effect , I had drew my card and started a play when he remembered and says he can do it I called the judge and he says “is fine this time but to not forget again” then I ask at other card shop I went after and they agreed that he messed up. Please when choosing a judge make sure he does his job right because for that specific reason I’ll never again attend to this store.
I wouldnt be wasting my time if that was the case, and the guy had passed turned like i said and the fact the you guys rather defend the judge then to look into the facts makes it even worst is ok aint going back just letting people know how you guys...
