Title: A Seafood Lover's Paradise on Southside Fish and Clam!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Southside, and I must say, it was a seafood extravaganza that left my taste buds dancing! This market and restaurant combo is a true gem for seafood enthusiasts, and I had the chance to savor some of their finest offerings.
Snow Crab Legs: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The snow crab legs at Southside were nothing short of spectacular. They were perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and seasoned just right. Each bite was a burst of sweet and briny flavor, making these crab legs an absolute must-try.
Lobster Roll: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The lobster roll here was a work of art. The buttery, toasted roll was generously filled with succulent lobster meat, lightly dressed with a delicate sauce that allowed the lobster's natural sweetness to shine through. It was a heavenly indulgence.
Crispy Fries: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) Southside knows how to do fries justice. Their crispy fries were the perfect sidekick to the seafood delights. Golden, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside, these fries were the ideal complement to the seafood dishes.
Fresh Clams: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The fresh clams at Southside were a delightful surprise. Served steamed and seasoned to perfection, they were tender and flavorful. The natural brininess of the clams was balanced beautifully, making them a fantastic appetizer or side dish.
Oysters: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The oysters were a true highlight of the meal. Served on a bed of ice, they were incredibly fresh and tasted like they were just plucked from the sea. They were briny, with a clean finish that left me craving for more.
In addition to the outstanding food, Southside Fish and Clam's atmosphere was cozy, and the service was attentive. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to provide recommendations.

Read moreI'm sorry but this will be my first and last time at Southside. My best friend suggested it because she goes on the regular. The wait time was excessive but I'm assuming because it was Valentine's Day, but it got worse. After an extended wait for our food, it was not what I wanted. I wanted thai calamari and popcorn shrimp. I got plain fried calamari and was told they ran out of thai chili sauce. If I was told that during my purchase I would not have ordered the calamari. My two friends with me didn't fair any better, I was almost finished with my food when my second friend got hers and my third friend got her food when my other friend and I were almost finished eating. My third friend then requested replacement orders twice because her food was cold when received because her orders sat on the window, after the second time she requested a refund out of annoyance. My other friend had to damn near beg for melted butter and she had twin lobsters. More importantly they had closed signs on every other table to maintain social distancing and the young man did wipe tables as customers left... the problem was when he wasn't in the room and new customers walked in, they would move the closed sign and sit directly next to another already occupied table which annoyed me to no end. I actually watched one couple get up mid meal and move to the table directly behind them BEFORE the table was sanitized and of course the next couple sat at the table the former couple moved from, not knowing it was not sanitized. I went and told the manager, I believe his name was Dan or Don, but he didn't even have the decency to walk out onto the floor to see what was going on. I haven't gone out to eat since the pandemic started and on my first time out, this is the nonsense I see. I'm going back into my rabbit hole where it's safe and...
Read moreI wanted to give this place a chance again after having a pretty awful experience earlier this year, but I chalked it up (the first time) to it being a Friday during lent and assumed it was super busy. However, this past weekend I ordered online just a couple of simple dishes to go, a coconut shrimp, fried calamari and baked clams. When I placed the order online it told me there was a 45 minute wait. I actually arrived about an hour later assuming that my order would be done. The girl at the counter said that it would be just a few moments. An additional 15 minutes later as I stand there and watch people who walked in after I arrive get their plates of food to eat inside, I ask quite angrily where my order is. The young lady responded with “I’m sorry for the wait, they’re making it now.” It was at this point I realized I made a mistake giving this place another chance. An additional 20 minutes later I finally get my order, only to be completely disappointed. The coconut shrimp was over cooked, the sauce that comes with it was super sweet and lacking of flavor, the calamari was rubbery and took forever to chew, and the clams still had quite a bit of sand or grit in them. I spent, no wasted, nearly two hours of my life for some of the first seafood I’ve ever had. And I doubt that the owner will address this as I see he only responds to good feedback here but I hope they see this and realize that the management of this place and the food they are providing is...
