Five Guys — Restaurant in Town of Batavia

My husband and I love this place! We have been here enough to say the staff is always has top notch customer service and never disappoints in their food. We were here again within the last week and every staff member we came into contact with was very friendly. Our food was made in such a quick manner that we almost weren’t ready as we were just finding a table and sitting down. I saw another review who gave this place 1 star and I saw it was door dash. They complained the fries were cold. Coming from a restaurant background I just want to make note that fries have a 7 minute hold time. So if your door dash person wasn’t there as soon as it was ready and your house is not within 7 minutes then it definitely explains why you were less than happy with your purchase. The idea of door dash is great, but people have to take into consideration the time of when their meal was complete to when their delivery person picked it up to how long it took to be delivered. You’re not going to have super hot and fresh food in the way you would if you went there and ate. I just wanted to point that out for anyone who wants to do door dash from here and blame five guys directly when there are plenty of contributing factors. To start with, the place is dirty. The floor was littered with paper and didn’t appear to have been swept in quite some time, let alone mopped. I momentarily sat down at a table but quickly got up because it was crusty. During the 10 minutes that it took to get my burger and fries, several parties left and no one came out to clean the tables. My order was taken promptly and courteously. The steep prices gave me the impression that I was going to get a gourmet hamburger. That is definitely not the case. The price was comparable to that of the Thurmanator at Batavia Downs but isn’t remotely in the same ballpark (not even the parking lot) as far as taste. It’s a fairly sizeable burger but that doesn’t begin to make up for the difference between the cost and the quality. It’s no exaggeration for me to say that the quality of the beef at BJ’s wholesale far surpasses whatever they’re using at this restaurant.

The fries were some of the best I’ve had and they give you a ton.

Wow, the team that was on shift around 6pm on 8/13 was impressive. The food is always great but this was an interaction well handled by these young men. A woman that had received her order was clearly unhappy with the amount of fries that she received and asked the first time, in regard to the sizes. The young man politely showed her what she paid for. 3 minutes later she's at the counter again, after loudly cursing about the price from her table. These young folks took her lashing, smiled the entire time and gave her what she wanted. I don't often write reviews, I work in customer service though and I'd hire any of the 5 of these gentleman, any day. Please thank them for making every guest in the place happy...we all watched this grown woman have a meltdown over french fries and they handled it without a scene. Nicely...
