I have to amend our post from 3 years ago because the service has unfortunately gone downhill. We visited on an evening when there were no other customers and when we entered the young man was on his Ipad and didn't even look up for at least a minute. We waited patiently, since he knew we were there, and when he finally looked up he didn't say a word - just stared at us. Evidently "hello" or "can I help you" are beyond his customer interaction ability. We make our orders and he still never says a word. So I ask him if they might have pumpkin flavor again this season since there was none that night. He stares at me and says "not tonight". The only words he spoke and they seemed intentionally to not answer my question. Usually the staff are good, but sometimes not so much, and every experience we have had with this person has been unpleasant. Fortunately an alternative ice cream shop has opened nearby. So far the staff there have been very pleasant every time we have visited. They even know how to smile and be courteous.
We LOVE this Abbott's location. It has done a wonderful job serving central Brighton for several years with great Abbott's quality. We visit often throughout the season and the staff are always courteous and efficient. Try a Flurry if you want a...
Read moreI'm visiting from out of town and this was my first time at Abbott's. Despite hearing such great reviews, I was baffled by why this place gets so much hype. First, there was a teen girl working the counter, and her customer service was sorely lacking. She didn't say hi or even respond when asked how she was doing. That's simple social etiquette, but I guess not tonight. I ordered a "flurrie" and it was made sloppy and hurriedly. Honestly, I would've been better off ordering a Blizzard from Dairy Queen. The other worker was older and a bit more personable, but she also made one of our sundaes rushed and sloppy. I expected more custard flavors, but this place is best for those who want a basic vanilla or chocolate cup or cone. Rita's remains my top choice for custard and customer service. Takeaway: Abbott's is not the same as folks say it is and could use better management/service at...
Read moreAbbott's custard has always been my favorite brand because it's very creamy with a great flavor but ever since last summer I have been moving away from dairy products and I haven't purchased regular ice cream. It would be awesome if they could offer non dairy ice cream (coconut milk, cashew milk, almond milk). I'll be honest, if it's soy milk I still won't buy. I am also gluten free and not by choice so gluten free options such as cookies or cones would be a thoughtful addition. Many children have these allergies and many adults choose these diet restrictions. The first to do this will get my money this summer and plenty of other people I know because I haven't found this yet! But let's be realistic, abbotts is already expensive so if these new options will be priced outrageously, I'll to buy "so delicious" from the grocery store and call it a day! Thanks for your...
