I normally do not leave negative reviews as I hate to be that guy but after my most recent experience I am going to be that guy. I place an order online at around 5:20PM all it was was one medium pizza, half cheese, half pepperoni and cheese and 10 mild Buffalo wings. I received an email confirmation that my order will be ready at 5:46PM, now mind you I knew it was Super Bowl Sunday so I expected them to be busy so I added an extra 10 minutes to that time frame. I showed up right before 6:00 pm I go inside talk to the guy at the register tell him I’m doing a pick up for an online order, gave him my name he said it will be a few minutes. Cool no biggie I don’t mind waiting, at around 6:15pm he goes and asks myself and the rest of the customers waiting for our names again and what we are waiting for. I again confirm my name and what I am there to pick up he said shouldn’t be too much longer. At 6:30pm 45 minutes after they said my order will be ready and 30 minutes that I was waiting in the shop I ask him for an update. He comes back and ask me how did I place my order and I again told him online, he walks away goes to the back and says we must of somehow “missed” your order. Seriously? I waited almost 40 minutes in the shop for you to tell me you guys missed my order when I gave you my name and order multiple times and you said just a few more moments. Then they have the nerve to say we can start it right now or next time you order from us we will give you a discount. Yea ok no don’t start the order and I do not plan on ordering from this location ever again. I normally get my pizza and wings from Joes Brooklyn Pizza and they have never done me wrong but I decided today that I’ll order from Pontillos since it’s been a while let me support them. I made a bad decision and won’t be doing that again. The only reason this is not a 1 star review is because it was Super Bowl Sunday so I am be generous and showing a...
Read moreI ordered a small pepperoni pizza, I have never ordered from this location. I asked please make sure it Is not burned. The manager said ok and I thanked him. I trusted him and shame on me, I should of checked before I left. When I arrived home sat down for dinner. The pizza was burned and even the pepperoni. I called and asked the employee if he was the one that took my order, his response was yes. I said my pizza is burned may I return it and have a new pizza made he said no I knew you would call and complain, it isn't burned. I said why would you think that? Because you made a request not to burn the pizza and hung up on me. I called back and said please do not hang up on me, I would like to return the pizza and have you make another one and he said no we are not making you another pizza, I said then I would like my money back and he said no. I said that is not nice, I never yelled at you or was rude, just asked for a simple request. I asked for the name of owner, he then hung up on me. I took pictures of the pizza. I am in Human Resources upper management, I understand how important it is to be nice to people. This employee/manager was out right rude and very nasty. I hope the owner reaches out to me, so I can show him the pizza. It was my first time, but it is my last time. I was looking forward to try the pizza. I have never been treated with such disrespect from an employee. I could of gone to a national chain and ordered a pizza instead of locally owned pizza resturant. I always like to buy from locally owned. I hope he is fired. Such disrespect!, The pizza is in...
Read moreThis Pontillos used to have the single best slice in town. Their buffalo chicken slice was a 10/10 and all their slices are priced reasonably. I pass like 6 pizza places from where I live in the city to get to Pontillos in Brighton.
However, recently they changed their buffalo chicken slices. They no longer use breaded chicken that soaks up had hot sauce for the perfect flavor.. now they are using frozen "grilled" chicken that tastes like rubber and soaks up nothing. Twice I purchased this and was hugely let down before I asked about it recently.
As soon as I asked the employee rolled his eyes.. Said he agreed with me.. And doesn't understand why the stubborn manager made the change and won't change back. I know why the change was made- this news frozen chicken is cheaper. Very clearly cheaper. No thanks.
I stopped in again recently and this was still the case, so no reason to ever return to Pontillos in Brighton ever again.
I'm not gonna support a business that hides their best product behind a paywall.. Because now if I want that slice I gotta order the whole pie. Not convenient at all for this single dad.
Nothing worse than a stubborn business owner who can't get out of their own way. I totally understand raising prices to accommodate inflation if it's appropriate.. But a food place that cuts costs instead is not one to support. Cutting cost of your food means cutting the quality of your food.
So disappointed to even write this review. I used to go to Pontillos like twice a week.. That's like 100 times a year I gotta find an alternative. But that's...
