When I first started coming here 10 years ago, service and food was great. Now, not so much. This is the 4th time since I came back since COVID and it still haven’t improved. When we first arrived no line 3 open tables, the lady told us she will clear a table and come get us. We waited 8 mins while she stood by the register talking about customers to I assume the owner. We finally sat, we ordered our food, we asked for hot tea, server brought out our food and left.. no hot tea.. we asked for it again and she then brought it out.
10 mins into eating, server came back and asked if we wanted to go box while I was still literally putting food in my mouth. She then came back 10 mins later and by this time I was just over the poor service, lost my appetite.. We asked for to go box, while she was packing our food, she asked if we wanted her to put the white rice inside with our entree.. I've never been asked that in my life with Chinese food. We said no, then another server comes over picking up the fried rice and asked if we still wanted our fried rice. Well, what do you think?!?! We have to go boxes literally being packed!
As we paid with cash because they charge 3.5% for using a card.. the lady asked us if we knew tip was not included, we responded with yes. We left no tip based on our experience. I'm usually pretty understanding when it comes to service but at the end we just felt like we wasted money. We felt rushed once we sat but they didn't have any urgency while we waited. Service just kept going downhill our entire stay. Then they expected a tip and made that known. No thanks, we will not be returning anymore.. disappointed because food is pretty good here. We will just drive 20 mins downtown to other asian restaurants.
Seems like there are some poor reviews over the years and all they do is apologize but no improvements. There are common service issues and no improvements. I dislike businesses that does not take into consideration how to improve their services, your business is what you...
Read moreWorst dining experience. Clean facility. However, it was a lunch buffet with no foods. It’s supposed to be a small selection to begin with (which I am fine with) but literally there were only three items + one soup. available that they kept refilling. The orange chicken just had orange peels left. All of the meat dishes were gone and only the sauce and scraggly scraps remained at the bottom. Only the Singapore’s style glass noodle, fried rice and egg foo young had enough quantity to serve the guest. Mind you, it was not busy. There were servers and the owner who kept cleaning around the buffet so I know they saw their sparse offerings. But after a long wait, still no additional food were brought out so we asked the owner who was behind the register if they were planning to bring out, so she yelled into the kitchen from afar. No response but she never followed through for confirmation. I waited patiently but still no food. Frustrated I decided to pay for my bill and left. The owner had the nerve to ask how was it it, I shook my head and said no. She paid no attention to My body gesture and proceeded to collect my payment. Therefore, I outright told her that what kind of buffet that does have any food and leaves half of the buffet blank with only sauce and and scraps. She said she wasn’t aware about this. Next she tells me, that they they wrapped up food service up at the end of lunch and only bring out more food at request which I did earlier and she forgot I did or intentionally ignored my request. Don’t dine here if you expect a buffet at all but rather noodle, fried rice, egg foo young and soup. To reiterate, I knew the buffet table was small but it had at least 12 slots for food, but we got only 3. They are trying to skim and squeeze every penny for profit by not serving any food to its patron. Not sure how they are...
Read moreI have to lead with that coming here on vacation from NYC, we have a lot of fantastic options for Chinese; naturally, we have high standards & expectations, which makes the following even more impressive.
The family recently had the pleasure of dining at Emperor's Kitchen & I can confidently say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This hidden gem is a standout when it comes to both customer service & culinary excellence.
From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted warmly by the staff. The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting & cozy w/ elegant woodwork that set the stage for a memorable meal. The service was impeccable throughout our entire meal. The waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive, offering several helpful recommendations & making sure our glasses were never empty.
Now, let's talk about the food:
Each of our entrées was on par with what you'd get in Lower Manhattan in Chinatown
We know when fresh is fresh & boy, you can tell that only the freshest ingredients are used. I highly recommend the General TSO's Chicken--the sauce was among the best I've ever tasted--it was an absolute showstopper. Combined with the most ridiculous eggrolls (honestly I've never tasted an eggroll like theirs. The best I've ever tasted. Literally)
Overall, Emperor's Kitchen excels not only in its top-notch authentic Chinese, but also in its outstanding customer service. It's a place where you can sit back, relax & truly enjoy a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a fan of traditional Chinese dishes or eager to try something new, this restaurant is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return. I wish they had a...
