Bagel Lady Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

I had hoped that once this place is under new ownership things would improve, but unfortunately the EXACT SAME inefficient process was copied - The person that takes your order is the person that makes your order and is the person that you pay. This means that the registers are always unmanned unless there is no line. Call in an order and you still must stand in the same line to order since the registers are unmanned. They will tell 10 to 15 min for a call-in order, show up 15 min later and then spend 10 min standing in a line ending up with your order cold.

Forget about just popping in to buy a cup of coffee or any beverage for that matter. I wonder how much revenue they lose because of this.

I hate complaining about service during COVID times, but this was the case even before the shutdown and slow open. If you live in this area, it is faster driving to Rocky Point Bagels. They always keep it moving, somehow their service did not take a hit during COVID. Another plus to me is that I prefer their bagels and their everything bagels have salt on it.

One of the main reasons this place is still open is because of the location. Every single time I go in there I wait an unnecessary amount of time. Today when I went in there I could see 6 people working there, 2 of the employees were like taking stock of the drinks for about 5 minutes, another women was behind the counter cutting peppers, and another women was cutting some deli meat. The line had about 4 people on it and I’m sure the women saw but none of them stopped whatever they were doing to help. There was only one women helping the people on the line. Finally after the 2 women were done talking and looking at the drinks 1 came over to help me. Also this place has a ridiculous set up because the bagels are right there behind the counter but then to put cream cheese/butter on it they have to walk all the way around the corner to the left to put it on. A much more efficient way to do this is to put the cream cheese and butter right next to the bagels where the muffins currently are. But, the bagels are pretty soft and the chocolate muffins...

I’m not the one To write a review, but customer service Is really poor in this place. I went there this morning. We order a Couple things and some coffee, When we got the coffee, the lady that took our order Did It wrong, We order five coffees three of them no sugar and two of them with sugar, Obviously I Wanted her to make new coffees since we didn’t order that she proceeded To scream and said “is this a joke” I told her how is it a joke if We ask for coffee, no sugar. She proceed to keep on screaming, on top Of that she forgot to charge us for a cake that we had order; which I asked this other gentleman For the cake, and out of nowhere she comes and screams “they didn’t pay for that charge them for it” like I was going to steal the cake? very nasty lady she was in her late 40s, you guys should really reconsider her if you guys want to keep customers because All she does is scare...
