Joy Wo Chinese Kitchen — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

I just ordered food from here on DoorDash. It is the first time I’ve ordered from here. I have had Chinese food from easily 20-30 restaurants in Suffolk county alone and I have to say that this is easily top 3. I get Chinese food at least 2 times a month, usually somewhere in either port Jefferson or rocky point, depending on where I am. But now I will be making the extra trip to shoreham whenever I want Chinese from now on. Excellent quality. Also, I never review places, so the fact that I’m writing this means something. For reference, I ordered: bbq spare ribs, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, steamed dumplings, and lo mein for my brother and I. I was already impressed before I got the the last thing, the ribs, which are my favorite Chinese item and seemingly the hardest to get right. They could have used a bit more sauce, but I’ve never had spare ribs with such good texture. Lots of meat and extremely tender. If you’re an avid spare rib eater like I am, you’ll know that’s hard to find sometimes. Everything else was excellent as well. Don’t hesitate...

My wife ordered the sesame chicken and I ordered The General Tso’s chicken dinner combo. After driving all the way home to Mount Sinai from Shoreham my wife, and I both went to cut into our chicken to find that it was still pink and rubbery. I called to let the owner know that the chicken was robbery and I wanted a refund and he started yelling and screaming at me telling me that nobody else has ever had a problem with the chicken and that I’m the only one and insisted that I bring the food back down for a refund. I will never ever come back here after being treated like this all he had to do was be nice...

Very good! Just moved to the area and have tried several Chinese food places. This one's the best by far! Sesame chicken and roast pork egg foo young are excellent. Fried rice and lo main are solid. Reason I docked a star: Broth on wonton soup tastes watery. Boneless ribs were just ok (but above average than a lot of places.)

Now to find a decent pizza joint. XD
