Dolci Momenti Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

7/28/2021 We have been loyal customers for years. All our family birthdays have been celebrated with these cakes and these cakes only from this bakery , this location. Well today we came in to get a cake for my moms 50th birthday and upon entering we were the only guests in the store . There were 2 women behind the counter , 1 on the phone and the other was frantically running Im not sure why as we were the only people in the store. So we waited 10 minutes to be served. She apologized we understood and proceeded to ask the flavors of the $20 cakes in the window. She rushed through the flavors and then she went on her phone when we asked her the rest of the flavors. We decided to get the chocolate raspberry with whip cream. Paid $22 and left. Then we cut the cake for my mom and she was really upset. The cake was so dry , the flavor was wrong . It crumbled upon her slicing the first piece. There was no whip cream it was all jelly and dry chocolate cake. The cake tasted like pillsbury cake mix. I’m so upset . My mom was upset . Our night was ruined actually and we are embarrassed of how upset my mom was. The icing was dry and cracked . It was buttercream. To which I was told it’s whip cream . It was disgusting. We will never return her for our family’s birthdays. You have had our service since you opened for every family event including custom cakes and now you lost a loyal customer. Bought a half sheet cake this past Saturday - half chocolate mousse and half strawberry mousse. The chocolate mousse was no way mousse. It was dense like butter cream and did not taste like chocolate at all while they tried to make it chocolately oddly with a few chocolate chips in the filling. Not anything like the chocolate mousse pastry I sampled in Holbrook bakery prior ordering cake. What was used tasted like butter cream. The strawberry mousse was light like real mousse but had bits of strawberries and still not the quality mousse I've also had at the Holbrook bakery. In addition maybe because the filling didn't have much flavor, it was like eating just big chunks of yellow cake . The confection topping was also dark and runny unlike the picture I sent. I purposely ordered this cake a whole week ahead of time so it wouldnt be rushed and that is kind of how it looked. I was so disappointed and embarrassed as guests also noted the same issues with the cake. Just wanted to cry as this was for my daughters baby shower. I've been going to Holbrook's Dolci Momenti Bakery for years and expected so much...

So I always come here for my cheesecakes and love them but then I decided to order my daughters 12th birthday cake here and figured it would be better. Well I was wrong . The cake was beautiful upon looking at it but when my party host cut into it the cake broke apart . The icing on top cracked and the cake itself was crumbling and not even staying intact She couldn’t even get it on the plate without it completely falling apart . I was embarrassed and my party host said she has never experienced it before . When I tasted the cake it was extremely dry . There was more icing then cake . I returned the cake right after I left my daughters party. I’ve been waiting for Matt to call me back and he hasn’t . It’s now 2 days later and I called to get him on the phone and he is not there . Very poor customer service. If you have a crumbled cake sitting in your bakery call the customer back .paid $62 for this and it was returned no refund no call back .
