New Century Kitchen — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Been a while since I had Chinese takeout food this great. Traveling back from east end, made a stop over and dine in. There’s only 2 tables, one for table of two, other table of four.

Curry chicken 9.9/10. Sauce just needs a pinch more thickening. But the flavors, wow. Very delicious.

Beef with garlic sauce. 10/10. Kids are the toughest food critic. Will not eat unless the flavors are great and the beef is tender. It’s devoured. Great portion of beef with right balance of veggies. Broccoli blanched perfectly. Celery cooked just right, not too soft, not too raw. Same with carrots and snow peas. Excellent cooking technique. Flawless execution.

General Tso chicken. 10/10. One of the best takeout gen tso chicken ever had. Very crispy, not too much batter, right amount of chicken meat ratio.

The star of the show. The egg rolls. 10/10. This place now sets the new bar what 10/10 is. Not too thick on the wrapper, wrapped nicely, great ratio of pork and cabbage, fried perfectly. Fresh frying oil. Egg rolls are usually too greasy, old rancid oil, too much cabbage, thick wrapper, or not wrapped tightly. There’s absolutely nothing to improve on this egg roll. I haven’t had a phenomenal egg roll like this since 1980’s. Reminds me of the old egg rolls before NYC changed all the cooking rules in 90’s.

Service: 10/10. Kind and personally delivered our food to the table. Actual wait service.

This is our new lunch pit stop whenever we head back out east. Too bad they’re so far away, we need a phenomenal takeout place like this in Nassau. They should consider upscaling to a full Cantonese restaurant if they make Chinese American...

First time here.. saw the Google ratings (4.7 at the time) and decided it was a must try after the other two "less than good" experiences I've had elsewhere recently.

Ordered my GO TO dish that many have a hard time making right, as simple as it is. The Singapore Mei Fun was spot on. One of the best I've had in a long time, regarding flavor, seasoning and texture (not overcooked). Had plenty of shrimp, pork and I think chicken. It could have used a little more green to make it prettier and more colorful, like snow peas or even more scallions, but now I'm just being picky. Noodles were great. Had just a bit of heat from the crushed red pepper, (I like it spicy).

One thing I can say is that in the time it took to prepare my meal, about 10 minutes, there were at least four or five other pick up orders and it was barely even 4:30 pm. It's a popular place.

The lovely and very cheery woman at the register handed me a beverage when my order was ready for pick up, which she didn't charge me for. She didn't have to do that.. She may have done this as a professional courtesy because I was still in my Chef's uniform. I thought that was sweet and hope to return the favor someday. I am definitely coming back AND telling all my foodie friends. On second thought, maybe I'll keep this little secret to...

Caved in and decided to try something new. I searched for a local Chinese food businesses with good online reviews. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Their food was so good!! Super delicious. Plus they are kind and their customer service was bomb. I happened to see that they aren’t available on DoorDash for delivery. The egg roll I order was a bit. However, I will say that the cooks did try to soak up some of the grease prior to selling it to me. Unlike other Chinese food businesses that do not care about important aspects as such.
