Holbrook Bagel Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Islip

I have been coming to this store since the 80s with our family. More recently new owners took over and for the most part the bagels have been decent. However, last week the store was extremely busy and when I got home the 3 bagels ordered were tough. I also had to wait longer as the first time the girl did not get my order correct. The next morning I went again for breakfast & mentioned this. The lady picked up a bagel and starting pushing on it & saying how I could see they are soft. I was surprised they never apologized & I thought maybe one of the three I ordered might be on the house for the inconvenience. That is just good customer service. The gentleman said he could do nothing & it is his uncle’s business. I left my number asking to speak with the owner but nobody ever called. I will certainly not be back. Good bagels, breakfast and reasonable prices. The negative I see is the big turn over for front counter staff, its like new staff every few weeks, some employees some seem bit disgruntled and unhappy. There was a young lady who appeared friendly and very clean but she didn't last long. When I go in I maneuver myself to avoid getting the young tall white guy (I think he usually works in the kitchen) whose dirty clothes make me little weary. I got unlucky on Tuesday (11/08/16) early morning, he was alone with a female employee and I got him! Every time I tried to take bite of the egg sandwich he made, his clothes and appearance came to mind, had to dump it. I went there today with my sister and ordered an egg and bacon on an Egg Everything bagel, they were out and only had everything bagels, i asked how long and the lady said 20 minutes for Egg everything. So i said everything bagel is fine , 2 minutes after the Egg Everything came out, so i got excited and asked can i please have my egg sandwich on the egg everything and she had such an attitude and said “it’s already done” . I worked at a deli for 5 years and it’s not the way you talk to someone. Instead she made me pay for another bagel to switch it over and then didn’t even give it to me?
