First let me say I did not want to leave a bad review so I'll leave 3/5 and update down the road. My family gets meal preps from Hummus Fit for over a year now. My kids tell all of their friends about u guys and a bunch of them also order regularly. We recommend u guys to EVERYYONE. However, recently it's been getting a little frustrating and I know we aren't alone in thinking this.
There used to always be a good selection in store. Now it seems like unless u order online or get there the second they restock meals, u will have a hard time finding anymore than chicken, chilli, burgers or wraps. U guys used to have multiple steak options. Teriyaki Flank bowl, hibachi bowl. Haven't seen either in over month. We use meal preps mainly for dinner so we usually favor protein & rice/potatoes over the wraps or the breakfast meals. I know prices have gone up for products everywhere. But, there are other meal prep places that offer multiple proteins like pork, shrimp, meat loaf, etc for similar pricing.
Also, another "complaint" I've heard from others besides myself is finding meals without fries. I personally don't buy them because they're soggy when u heat them up. This isn't Hummus' fault. But the few times I've been able to find a steak meal recently it's been with fries. It would be so nice to see more protein & rice/potato options that aren't fries. Also, different types of rice would be great.
Also, while I'm already being a "Karen" I have to say, after much experience with the chicken meals, it seems like the chicken is always a little bit overcooked. I know u guys can't risk undercooking. And I know some people eat their meals cold. But, for the majority of us that heat them, it's really hard to heat without drying out. I take my meals out and hour early so they're easier to heat and I've tried using lower power settings on my mic. It would be great if there was a way to safely cook the chicken just a little bit less to leave enough room to reheat without drying it out.
I hope I don't sound nasty. My entire reason for posting this is to offer feedback that will fix any complaints we have and keep us from ordering from anywhere else. We love u guys and besides these few minor gripes we have nothing but good...
Read moreWhat a mess this place is. First off, it needs a good cleaning. From the dirty floors, to the stained ceiling tiles. Next, there is inventory stuffed all over the place. Cases of drinks scattered on the floor, banners draped across cardboard boxes, a rack of t-shirts where customers should be seated. More t-shirts on the window counter, and one of only 3 tables in the place had boxes of unrefrigerated food sitting on it for most of the half hour we were here, until one of the counter people finally put it into the refrigerator. On one wall there are several ugly fridges with randomly stocked prepared meals on unleveled shelves.... Not the Mediterranean food that's served here, but a mishmosh of high protein foods of the type you would expect to find at a gym, including peanut butter and jelly. The top of those fridges were stuffed with giant tubs of protein powder. Another ugly rack, wrapped in aluminum foil displayed some kind of high protein cookies.
Selling unrelated gym rat food in the cold case doesn't portray a belief in their own menu in my opinion, and makes me wonder if they aren't hedging their bet on which concept will work better.
As to the food we came here to try, it was pretty good. Tasty recipes, good portions and it seemed fresh except it really wasn't hot.
Overall, we're happy with our dinner, but won't likely come back until they lose the Sanford...
Read moreThe purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this restaurant in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review.
Atmosphere: Located at the beginning of a triangular intersection, it is pretty accessible from either side if you're driving. It has a few parking spots in the back. The inside is spacious and clean, and they have a decent number of tables. I think there were also a few tables outside for the summer time. It really had some friendly & chill vibes the whole time I was there.
Service: Friendly, welcoming, and quick.
Food: I was around the area and wanted to get something that was close to fresh and healthy-ish, not just junk food. Fortunately I found this place and ot did not disappointed me. I ordered the Rice Bowl with roasted chicken, topped with spinach, chickpeas, sumac onions, and tahini sauce on the side. Oh, the Pita bread is also pretty good, not greasy like others I've had before. I initially wanted to get the chicken kebab, but they just started preparing more of it. Still, I was very pleased with my order.
Price: The portion, quality, and flavors altogether is a no-brainer,...
