This is a small restaurant that packs tables in with barely room between each other. That aside my biggest complaint was with the food. The chips and salsa served were poor, the salsa tasted like it came out of a jar bought at the supermarket and the chips were not even very good. We ordered the sampler appetizer and the plantains were dry and covered with bacon, the jalapeno peppers were clearly not restaurant made, the shredded chicken quesadilla tasted like a giant pile of dry shredded chicken that was previously frozen. Unfortunately for me I had already ordered the shredded chicken chimichinga which used the same chicken in it. It was even worse that the only thing inside the chimichinga was the chicken, with the rest of the food on the side. I got a tiny dab of guacamole which helped but there wasnt enough, some shredded lettuce, canned beans and what seemed like instant rice. The strangest thing though is my girlfriend got the vegetarian chimichinga and inside they put peas and green beans... I dont think anything in this meal was remotely authentic Mexican or had any work put into it. The...
Read moreOne star for a pleasant Walter. Otherwise, everything we ate in this restaurant, including the margaritas, were terrible. All of the food was pre packaged, processed, and bought from a supermarket --nothing was fresh. They charged $12 for a small portion of guacamole that was obviously store-bought and packaged (with preservatives etc ). Freshly made food is the reason I eat out so I was incredibly disappointed to find store-bought products liked salsa from a jar (think old el paso) at restaurant prices. Even the jalapeño garnish was from a can, not fresh jalapeño. The margaritas were made from a mix with tequila added. Again, I expect an expensive restaurant to actually make the food that they serve. Lastly, all of the food was incredibly sweet. My enchiladas sueza tasted like sweet cheese blintzes. Hidden sugar in food is utterly unnecessary and causes so many health problems. So disappointed after reading many good reviews on...
Read moreHas to be my favorite restaurant on Long Island ! Everything that comes out of their kitchen is seasoned perfectly and cooked to your specifications . My go to is the Platano Relleno a sweet plantain stuffed with cheese and vegetables or you can add meat or shrimp. I always ask for a side of their Chipotle sauce .. so good!!!! My other go to is Carne Ala Tampiquena..marinated skirt steak with a cheese enchilada and rice and beans and Guacamole!! Always perfectly cooked to order! My boys order the Chicken ala Mexicana a crispy breaded pounded thin cutlet smothered in cheese ..served with that awesome Chipotle sauce and rice and beans. A nice hefty portion. I don’t drink much alcohol but nobody makes a better margarita!!! My preference is the regular but their flavored margaritas are delicious too!! It’s not cheap but the quality and service is there.. can’t wait until we...
