I've been to The Mad Batter Tea Room & Restaurant two times now and they definitely won't be my last. I attended a baby sprinkle there and just took my mom and daughter there last week. I believe you need a reservation so we called about a week before we went just to make them. Both times the food and service were amazing and the place/decor itself is such a fun experience. They have hats along the wall you can choose from and makes it even more fun! My mom and I decided on the top tiered tower of food and tea. The peach tea was amazing and my mom tried the raspberry and pomegranate; both great flavors. For sandwich's, I was able to choose 4 and got the Turkey brie and green apple, cucumber cream cheese and dill, brie and pear, and arugula pear and ricotta. They were all amazing; so refreshing and light and yet so simple. I want to try and recreate them at home; my favorite was the Turkey brie and green apple. Both of ours came with an assortment of delicious desserts and fruits as well; brownie, Angel food cake, oatmeal cookie, and the most delicious lavender scone with clotted cream and jam. I could go back and eat ten of those. Marja was our server and she was super friendly and polite; she even went out of her way to found my baby a cute little hat and plastic tea cup she can play with while we were eating! Looking for the most fun and exciting way to have some high Afternoon tea? Look no further! This tea room is so unique and exquisite. You can order a regular entree or the traditional afternoon tea tier with sandwiches, a scone and many delectable baked goodies. All the baking is done on the premises which means everything you taste is fresh and delicious. lordered my own tier and my dining partner also. You get a choice of 4 different tea sandwiches. I highly recommend the Arugula pear & ricotta, Cucumber cream cheese & dill, Turkey Brie & apple and Crasin walnut cream cheese. I would venture to say any of the tea sandwiches are tasty. The bread was also fresh and soft. tried everything that was offered. The baked desserts really were spectacular. I enjoyed the cookies, shortbread and brownie. The scone was also a treat, imagine a freshly baked scone - I was in love! A vast selection of tea for your own pot. I selected the Moroccan Mint green tea - so satisfying. The place itself is warm and inviting. Such cute decorations. There is also an option for a Kids afternoon tea. The tea room is great for groups, solo trips or events. My friend and I came to Mad Batter for late afternoon tea and we had an amazing time! We arrived a bit early before our reservation and the staff was still clearing up after an event. We were fully prepared to wait it out in the car to let them finish but the staff was so kind and seated us at a clean table right away. This place is so cute and whimsical; the ambiance is just wonderful from the minute we stepped in. They have a large menu with different choices of tea towers, sandwiches, salads, and even full size meals and desserts. The tea menu has so many varieties available it was hard to choose! Between us, we ordered our own pots of tea, the small tea tower, a Caesar salad, and a dessert tower. The tea sandwiches on the tower were fresh and delicious along with the accompanying fruit and scone. The salad was great too! And the teas we ordered came highly recommended from our server (for any fruity tea lovers out there, the wild raspberry hibiscus and the mango passion fruit are both great choices)!
