Gilshar Greek Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

I bought the falafel platter. The total came out to about 14 dollars, which wasn't good value. The falafel itself is one loaf-like mass of deep fried chickpea about the size of a Hershey bar, as well as lettuce, tomato, and onion in a pita. I discarded the pita. If you're into eating healthy be advised that the pita is store-bought, not made there, so it more than likely contains unhealthy, non-vegetarian additives or preservatives such as mono & diglycerides. The fries used to be amazing, classic diner-style french fries but they unfortunately in recent years switched over to the seemingly more popular, artery-clogging, deeper fried, crispier fries reminiscent of Burger King's. The salad consists of lettuce, tomato, two pepperoncinis, feta cheese, cucumber, and 2 or 3 olives. It unfortunately does not have any stuffed grape-leaves or onions unless maybe if you remember to ask. This place is slightly better than Zorba Greek down the road, but still...

I recently ordered from this place very disappointed with the food also overcharge for slop. I ordered 2 bacon wrapped shrimp appetizers and a Greek salad I added grill chicken to the salad .I asked the young girl who took my order was the chicken small like chicken tenders she said yes that comes with three pieces per order.I asked for two more pieces thinking I was getting small pieces. When I got home and opened the cardboard box was 3 large breast on a bed of wilted soggy Romaine lettuce no cucumbers very little tomatoes horrible overpriced Greek salad with nothing but lettuce lettuce .Stay away from this place .In the end I have a large salad lots of lettuce hardly any feta way to much meat that was dry .Had alittle so disappointed $67 for nothing.The 4 shrimp they give per order was okay that was $30...

Covid messed this place up. They give no cutlery, cheap out on the weirdest items. Let's not even talk about the skyrocketing prices for absolutely no reason at all. 17 dollars for a gyro platter????? What are those French fries made out of, gold????? Everytime you call it sounds like the person answering the phone would rather be checking their text messages. There food isn't the same anymore. I use to love this spot. I use to recommend it to anyone. I understand inflation, but gyros use to be 7 to 9 dollars for just the sandwich and platters were 10 to 12.
