For starters I would leave 0 stars if I could as that is their actual rating. Letās start with walking in, half the time you get dirty looks and stare downs by some of the female front desk staff. As you walk in first thing you realize is how unorganized everything is, you will be hunting down dumbbells and barbells (NEVER in the correct dedicated spot) which will cost you time and efficiency. Then you go upstairs and as you look for a cardio machine to use you realize that they are ALL broken.. there have been āscheduled for serviceā signs on some machines for longer than in the two years that Iāve been occasionally coming here. And when you finally do find a cardio machine that functions somewhat properly all you have to do is look down and immediately get disgusted at how filthy these machines are.. (this place should get shut down by health department just from how filthy dirty it is). Then you go downstairs and proceed to your workout. Immediately you notice the excessive amount of teens horsing around and simply just taking up space as they sit for 45 min on a bench just to scroll through TikTok. As they walk away leaving dumbbells all over the floor and if youāre lucky enough to see one put the weights away itās never in the correct spot. If you are unlucky enough to need to use the restroom then god help you as you are about to step into what is the most disgustingly filthy bathroom/locker room Iāve ever seen at ANY gym. Iāve never spoken to any member that has had good feedback for this place.. whoever I talk to always says the same thing āTHIS PLACE IS DISGUSTINGLY DIRTYā. It is very obvious what they think of you as a client by not even caring enough to provide you with a hygienic place to exercise. There are multiple other gyms in the area that provide much much better service. World gym is one of them, and although they have been around for over 30-40+ years their machines have been maintained, kept clean and are fully functional as where LA has only been around for less than ten years and has NEVER fixed a broken machine since. I posted just a few pictures of how dirty this place although I am tempted to expose so much more I think this should suffice for now. Last thing I want to mention that is a huge deal to many gym goers is the WIFI. Thereās no cell service in this place so you are forced to rely on a WiFi connection, THE WIFI HASNT WORKED IN OVER 3 YEARS.. my buddy who works for optimum has even offered to fix it for them and they always refuse. The guy on the phone told me to come down and he would show me around. WELL THE HELPFUL AND NICE ATTITUDE DIDNT LAST LONG.
I sat down with a gentlemen he explained everything was very nice but then he asked me if I wanted to put someone down for a free two week trial membership I declined but he insisted, so I gave him a name. He then asked for a phone number I was reluctant and asked if they would be calling this person since they did not know I signed them up for a 2 week trial. I explained that The person was my boyfriend who most likely would not even come without me. The membership includes the option to bring a guest with You, so he would just come with me as my guest if he wants. He assured me they would not call him. Well 3 days later my boyfriend gets a call about coming to work out at LA fitness. He was very confused lol.
I also was PUSHED into making an appointment with Sam the personal trainer. They were extremely pushy Iāve never encountered this not even buying a car.
I reluctantly made the appt for the free personal training session. I called the next day and cancelled it with someone at the front desk because Sam wasnāt in. The woman on the phone said ok Sam will call you, I saidā no she doesnāt have to call me just tell her thanks but Iām not interested.ā I got a confirmation email later in the day but assumed it was an error because I had cancelled that morning.
Well the next day I sign in with a guest and the girl at the desk says āoh you have a session with Samā I said āno I donātā, she insisted I did. I told her nicely that I cancelled the appt and she said āoh well as a courtesy you need to speak with Samā.
Why do I need to speak with her so she can try to push me into something I donāt want to do ?!??
I am really annoyed with how pushy these people are. And the lengths they go to, to try to get you to do the personal training or sign another person up. Unfortunately this location is the most convenient for me but, I think I will try and use a different...

As a loyal member for over two years, I was dismayed by the behavior of the new Manager, Francesca D. Here is a little backstory. I joined two years ago when my dad passed away. Recently, my mother's aggressive cancer diagnosis and hospice care have necessitated my role as her caretaker. My gym membership serves as a vital outlet for both physical and mental well-being, particularly during challenging times. I went from going 5 days a week, to whenever I can get in. On October 18th, upon scanning into the gym, I was informed of an unpaid balance. I was confused since my payment comes out automatically on the 1st. Then with an attitude she said the yellow line on the QR scanner tells me I have unpaid balance. I show her mine and it does not have the yellow line. Then I said I'm sorry my mom has been in and out of the hospital and is now in hospice dying and I didn't realize I had the balance. She just kept repeating herself. I repeated about my mother again. However, Manager Francesca D. persisted, displaying an unhelpful attitude. I explained my current financial constraints and family situation, but she remained unsympathetic. Ultimately, our interaction escalated. I said some choice words to her and left. I came in the next morning and signed my cancellation form. Subsequently, I discovered the unpaid balance referred to yearly dues, not monthly payments. I urge LA Fitness to provide Manager Francesca D. with public relations training, as her demeanor is detrimental to the gym's reputation. Furthermore, the gym's maintenance issues persist, with broken machines remaining unrepaired.
