JC's Restaurant Mastic — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

The stars are for the food. It really was good. We have eaten here twice before Both times a large party came in and was so loud we couldn’t hear each other. We haven’t returned for a long time then last night we thought we would give it another try In the restaurants defense, they said they had a large table in the dining room. Did we want to eat in the bar? No, I don’t wanna eat in the bar. I wanna have a nice private dinner with my husband and I didn’t mind the full dining room . There were four other tables with people eating that was not in the party. It wasn’t too bad. We placed our order and had a drink and within 10 minutes. They started screaming and yelling in fun, not anger, but they had children which was also screaming and yelling you can’t help kids. I guess learn to not scream in public However then they’re running back-and-forth and the parents are running after them they’re throwing the kids in the air, laughing and fooling around as if they were in their own living room. They had zero care about ruining anybody else’s dinner after two or three times of leaning forward and raising my voice so my husband could hear what I was saying it was impossible to speak so we ate in silence and left and we will never ever go back to this restaurant again They have a back room. I do not know why they didn’t put these people in the back room. The waitress said after they left, they come all the time so I guess their money is worth more than everyone else patronage because as the other tables walked out they all complained to us. Very disappointed, service and quality of food was poor. Last time I was here it was called Mikes place and it was amazing , always packed. This time around, a Friday night had more than enough seating. The waiter was not attentive or friendly. When asked for Tabasco they brought out a sauce in a small Dixie cup, we could tell it wasn’t Tabasco, we asked another waitress and our waiter came out and admitted they don’t have actual brand Tabasco- I didn’t like they tried to pull one over by giving us something different instead of just saying they had a substitute. Not a good look for ownership as a whole. The Soda was flat and obviously so, no bubbles at all in the glass. When I let the waiter know they offered to pour it in a paper cup as if the that would change anything. I had a water instead. The chicken sandwich came on a poppy seed roll that looked like it’s been sitting out for a week and the chicken was clearly just a frozen patty they heated up, it was dry with no flavor. The cheese in the mozzarella wedges became almost rubbery while eating. If you want bar food I would suggest going elsewhere. For the prices it was not worth it, Definitely not what...

My sister wanted to try JC’s restaurant after getting recommended by it by a coworker at first we were skeptical because of the area it was in but it turned out really good. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I got the steamed clams with garlic butter, jalapeños, celery and onion with some bread (you could add spaghetti to it) it was honestly the best steamed clams I ever had I would definitely get it again. My sister got a burger medium with a side of Mac and cheese the burger was really good, not too greasy really tasty cooked medium. We got dessert too, we got banana cheese cake and churros. The banana cake was okay it tasted like cheese cake more than it did banana. The churros was so good it was crispy but not crunchy and hard it was just the perfect amount of cinnamon not over powering just right with a scoop of ice cream and whipped cream it made the dessert prefect and is the best churros I’ve ever had coming from a person who always get churros as dessert wherever I go.
