Food is good. Not great, not bad. Their pricing is right in line with other Italian restaurants here on the island. Not cheap but not crazy expensive either. 1 thing that does bother me about this place however bread does not come with a dinner. He charges $6 extra for bread when you've ordered a 20 dollar pasta dinner which is unheard of at any other place. Same goes for a side of sauce or ketchup. If you buy a calzone or pin wheel, it does not come with the sauce. If you buy French fries, it does not come with the ketchup. He charges you 1.50 for sauce or ketchup. Now i understand if you want bread or a side of sauce you should be charged. But if you are ordering a dinner or pin wheel you shouldn't have to pay for the amenities it comes with and ive never been to a pizza place on long Island that does that. Also my wife and i got dessert here twice. Both times old and stale. Once was tiramisu and once was cannoli. 2 separate occasions and both times the deserts were thrown out.
Friendly, not expensive but not cheap. Expect an upcharge on everything. Foods decent enough but...
Read moreDisgusting is the only way I can describe what this place is. Ordered take out, received stomach curdling food that makes me so angry I've called the board of health. Pale white fried calamari, flavorless and raw. Linguini and white clam sauce with cloves of uncooked garlic and clams spewing with fecal matter in a tray of watery mush. So little effort was put in it makes me sad for the owners, and other unspecting guests who go to this place. The chef is not worthy of the tittle and belongs moping the floors and sampling the water as this is what his food tastes most comparable to. Chicken marsala looked as tho it was submerged in a Ramen noodle broth with a half a cup of linguini at the bottom which I should call noodles as they soaked up the flavorless brown water by the time I got home. Mushrooms white like they just came out the package not even remotely cooked. Honestly I can say this was the worst food I've ever had and the fact I paid $43.00 makes me infuriated. They...
Read moreThis is a wonderful local establishment with great food and friendly staff. Owner Carmine and his wife make you feel like you're part of their family. While the decor is a little dated when you first arrive, the dining room has pretty seasonal decorations, white table cloths & a scrumptious focaccia/bread plate to share while perusing the many selections. The waiter (their son) was very attentive to our needs and managed the other tables seamlessly. The food selections are both traditional with seasonal choices for drinks, entrees and desserts. Locals know what a gem this restaurant dining experience is. You're not rushed through your meal, unlike other places. You can relax, release your stress and enjoy a home cooked meal. And so many delicious desserts to choose from. I like being part of the LaGrova family and will keep going back for more. Thanks for a great meal Friday night. Loved celebrating my sister's...
