I used to get the chicken salad, then they started adding an insane amount of pepper into it. The egg salad and tuna salad is actually worse with the pepper. The salad is premade so you can’t even ask for it to not have pepper. I get seasoning and stuff, but this is extremely overload. I’m choking every time I take a bite. Pepper is an option to add on the machine if you wanted it too. The salad never used to have this much pepper.
It’s disappointing because it used to be good, but the last two times I brought it home my family and I couldn’t eat it. A majority of my friends and family have never liked an insane amount of pepper on things, and I would assume that most people prefer not to have their entire salad drenched in pepper. Please change it back to the normal amount it used to have, or add it as the option on the machine. It’s very disappointing for people who aren’t the biggest fan of pepper being the main character in a meal.
Staff also isn’t very friendly. Was told if I want a pickle instead of their disgusting macaroni salad I have to specify that on the machine, yet there’s no where to specify it on the machine. Every time I’ve come I’ve always gotten a pickle, then they change it without warning and argue with you at the counter to get what it was supposed to come with. Was told that it doesn’t come with a pickle, even though the week before when I came I got a pickle.
Every time I come here my order is always wrong and I’ve gone 10+ times, enough to use two rewards, because I enjoyed the chicken salad, so I put up with the forgotten mayo and bread not being toasted even though I specified toasted. Everything is on the ticket, after 2 months of being open I don’t understand why things are still coming out wrong.
Definitely lost a loyal customer as well as the family and friends I brought with me for being argued with for a pickle and the choking amount of pepper being added now. This place is going downhill fast, and it wasn’t too great in the beginning to start with....
Read moreThe $6 “gelato” was supposed to be pistachio. It was a weird color, almost olive green & tasted nothing like real gelato. The garlic bagel was burnt Prices are more for St. James, not working class Lake Grove. The service was terrible! The girl who served me was pleasant, but seemed confused & overwhelmed. She said my total was $8.25 for a small “gelato” & burnt bagel with nothing on it. I asked if the bagels are all $2 & she seemed speechless so a young man behind her said “No, they’re $1.50” I then asked how it came to $8.25 & he said “tax”! So 75 cents tax on food! She put the gelato in a cup but then couldn’t find a top. The young man told her nonchalantly that “we’re out of them”! No apology, no effort to find a different cover, nothing! She had the gelato in her hand & just stared at me, waiting for direction! It was bizarre! I asked if she had anything else to cover it with & she said “No”: so I said put another cup over it. She did but without taping it or putting it in a bag. Needless to say I gave up & left, carrying the gelato with the wobbly top! I paid with a $20 bill & a quarter. The girl really got confused & tried to give me 75 cents in change. I told her I gave her the quarter so I wouldn’t get change & she owed me $12. After thinking about it, she gave me $12 then tried again to give me 75 cents! I told her “ you keep that” & she said “thanks” as if she thought it was a tip. Very frustrating. Should have tasted the gelato there. It was awful so I threw it out! Hoping they get their act together! Some of my friends have had similar experiences & they’ve only been open a short time, and have so many complaints! I’m still rooting for them! Hope the owners read these comments & work to resolve the...
Read moreJust opened and they need to get better at running their business. I'm sure they will but I noted that the staff is still working out many kinks. For starters, too long a line part of which is attributable to the confusion customers have as to where to go to order. There were two order takers at separate counters when I visited this morning but absolutely no coordination or direction from management as to where to lineup. Hence, a single cashier had a line to the back of the store while the other was empty. Both cashiers were very slow in taking orders as well - but that's understandable given the store just opened yesterday. A Dunkin previously occupied this space and customers were accustomed to walking in, placing their order, and moving out fairly efficiently and quickly to go to work. Very slow today at Bagelati and if things don't change, you'll be late for work stopping here. On the positive side, place was absolutely immaculate, comfortable, food was good and prices surprisingly fair. Again, the place just opened up and I believe the kinks will be worked out soon. I'm going back tonight for their gelato. Updated: Went back for the gelato - disapointing...
