this is my second time coming here. My first time was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious. The service was great no issues. This time was quite different.
me and my friend went here for lunch as soon as they opened at 12:30 today. I ordered a couple of appetizers, a few rolls, and my friend had soup and rice.
They came out with a few free appetizers which is always great. They were delicious.
They then bring out my friends, soup and rice.
As I’m nibbling on my appetizers, not trying to fill up we realize we’re waiting a really long time for my sushi rolls. I look over at the Japanese sushi bar and I don’t see anybody behind they’re making my stuff I then see the sushi chef walking from the back kitchen to the bar assuming he’s going to start on my rolls. I then see him walk back to the kitchen and disappear for a few minutes and then he comes back. We still waited.
I glanced over at the weight or several times because they stand there and watch you for some reason and gave a walk like where is my food he was waiting anxiously for the sushi chef to prepare the rolls as well.
once I get my sushi rolls, I’m very pleased with how it looks. Presentation is beautiful there’s a purple flower on the plate. Awesome, right? I start to eat my foxy Lady roll, and I noticed that it tastes cooked and I know that it was cooked salmon on the inside, but raw salmon on top so I’m like this tastes weird. so I take a closer look at the salmon that’s on top and it’s completely cooked by flame chard. so I look at the menu to make sure that I didn’t get anything wrong on my part and it says fresh salmon, which I took as raw. so I called the waiter over and I ask and then he goes and asks another waiter. Then they go to the sushi chef then they come back to me and say oh yes it should be raw but a lot of people have complained about it so the chef decided to flame chard the top.
I said well, I ordered it assuming that it was going to be raw and you can see that the salmon pieces on top are so thin that they cooked completely through. I said it changes the whole taste and I don’t like it. They apologized and said that they would have the sushi chef make me a new roll with the raw salmon on top I said OK thank you very much.
we then all of a sudden hear screaming in Japanese and look over and use the sushi chef getting all pissed off. Obviously I don’t know what he said, but attitude and upsetting is translates through any language.
The sushi chef (twice) looked over at me and started to walk to the table, I can only assume that he wanted to take the plate from me, and the waiter stopped him. The sushi chef then stormed off to the kitchen and I hear screaming from the other side of the kitchen. I called the waiter over and I said please cancel that roll. I don’t want him making anything for me. Just please bring me the check we want to leave.
The waiter came back and apologized again and said the manager is not here, but what he can do for me is take a few dollars off I said OK thank you that’s not a problem we just want to get out of here.
I did tell the waiter to please relay to the manager that the chefs attitude is completely unprofessional, and was uncalled for when he made the roll incorrectly.
as the waiter was explaining some things, he also mentioned that other people had complained that the sushi chef was changing the oil you can eat menu items at Will and the manager is aware of it, but chooses to do nothing about this.
When I got home, and looked at the receipt, I realized that they charge 3% for using a credit card, which I was not told while using my credit card.
Altho it does state it on the receipt that they do this, you only see it AFTER your card has been charged.
the experience I had today with the sushi chef, the sushi in general being no better than sushi I can get at Stop & Shop or the Amazon fresh store and now the up charge for using a credit card, it’s clear that I will never go to this place again.
i’m sure they will not hurt by losing my once a year business but...
Read moreA true Asian fusion restaurant with Japanese BBQ + Chinese menu + Korean music+tableware 😆 Recently went there four times to try all the BBQ sets and finally write the review now.
In general, the quality is above average. The owner generously provided severl dishes varies by days, such as grilled chicken, lemon rose tea, roast marshmallows. Whats more attractive is their atmosphere and the way they serve. It is a great place to enjoy a dinner with friends.
Food:
The Japanese barbecue set:
Ferris wheel set - recommended for 4 people;
Fortune staircase set - recommended for 4 people;
Swim Ring set - recommend for 3 people; This set + 1 appetizer is good for our 4 people.
Among the 4 sets, the most interesting one is ferris wheel set, the most convenient one is swim Ring set (people on the outside had to do the work because it was hard for those inside to reach).
The appetizers are good as well. Looks like they made it in the kitchen (the color is so bright and colorful LOL), not some unfrozen dishes. To my surprise, the dumplings are very juicy.
Some fun tips:
The decoration. The entrance looks like a temple. I was always wondering what is this place for before it was open. When it opens, I finally get a chance to stop by and try.
Chinese humorous. (i) Humourous couplet at the entrance: Eat more, eat less, eat whatever you want. Come early, come late, come whenever you can. (多吃少吃多少吃点,早来晚来早晚要来). (Ii) Near the front desk, there's a beckoning cat and with lords on the sides, you've come and you should enjoy it (来都来了). They even have a delivery robot, which looks quite novel. (iii) Funny Chinese menu. In their menu for appetizers, they have 鬼灭之刃 (demon slayer), 花开富贵 (blossomed flowers bring wealth), 只此青绿 (journey of legendary landscape painting) and so on. These are popular phrases from recent years. While the dishes may not be immediately clear from the names, the menu maintains its myth until the food is on the table.
They have a delivery robot, which looks quite novel.
Food on the house. Usually they have a skew, a drink, and a dessert. The food might change due to the supply. I do enjoy the time to roast the cotton candy with my friends.
They play Happy Birthday Song
They give a rose on the next day of Valentine's Day. They are super sweet!
Parking: plenty free parking spots in front of the restaurant.
In all, all experience are quite pleasant :) I am going to try their dim sum...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars, I would. Even though I saw the bad reviews, I still give it a chance and I was VERY disappointed in the quality of the food and the TERRIBLE customer service. First off, we had called earlier in the week to see when last seating was, we were told 8 because they closed at 9:30.
There was 5 of us that arrived separately. Out of the 5, only one was treated nicely and walked to the table. The rest of us were just given a pointed finger. The first person to arrive was told immediately that the 100 mins would start while she had arrived. The tone of our server was not the best. It was INCREDIBLY RUDE! The way she spoke to us made us feel like we were bothering her. All we did was come to eat and enjoy a birthday dinner for 3 of the people there. It felt a bit too rushed. I understand that you close at 9:30 but all of us arrived around 8. We shouldn't have to endure a rude server and to be told repeatedly that if we don't finish, we will be charged.
As for the food, the portions were just not it. What kind of restaurant serves 5 pieces of the smallest meat for 5 people? It reminded me of the small bites of bacon dogs get in their treat bags. That's how small it was. Some of the meats didn't taste that good. The seasoning on some of the foods were a bit too much. But what really grossed me out was the UNDERCOOKED chicken wings that we got. One was pink and the other was super pink. That isn't a good way to be serving chicken. It's food poisoning in the making. I saw a review on here that mentioned undercooked chicken and the owner said that they serve it that way so the customers cook it more. I would understand for the BBQ portion of it. But this was fried chicken wings. Why is it undercooked?
Eventually towards the end of the meal, our server was rude again after one of us order another round of short ribs. She immediately said in a RUDE tone if we were able to finish that. At that point we had enough and we requested that she not be our server anymore. Rude remarks and rude faces is NOT good customer service. If you had a long day, I understand that. But you're at work serving people. We ended up getting the busboy as a server instead. He was a lot better at serving than the other person.
Overall, I would not recommend going to this place. This was a horrible experience I have ever...
