Mamá Abuelita Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

I had high hopes for this bakery. I used to live in the area and was a huge fan of the bakery that was here before. They did a nice remodel, and the woman behind the counter was extremely friendly. Those are the reasons I’m giving it three stars. Based on the taste of the baked goods unfortunately, I would’ve given it a much lower score. I got simple, black and white cookies that were by far the worst black-and-white cookies we’ve ever tasted. The icing on top was wet And lacked flavor. The cookie itself was crumbly like a stale old cookie. We also got a few slices of cake and the icing ruined. It lacked flavor and tasted like pure sugar. We absolutely love Mama Abuelita Bakery. The coffee is excellent. The breakfast is delicious. The service is always attentive and on point. Shame on the person who gave a bad review because they found some flyers on the road. Don’t let bitter angry people keep you away from this gem of an establishment. Have the chorizo egg and cheese with avocado on a freshly baked roll and a cup of their delicious coffee and then you will know. Thank you Mama...

I’ve been here twice now. The first time the young woman who helped me was extremely helpful and sweet. The tres leches cup was tasty and a good small portion to satisfy my craving. The second time I went in there was another woman who was also super helpful and sweet and the pastries were delicious. I did not realize until after the fact that they were closed for 20 mins. Even though they were technically closed she was still inviting....
