Pudgie's Famous Chicken/ Nathan's Famous/ Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

was excited to see a pudgies, a place I havent been to since I was a kid. So me and my wife stopped in and We ordered food there. Besides not having several menu items and being told we'd have to call a day early the food we DID receive was bland and overcooked. But all of that would have been fine, I mean it is just a small fast food style chicken place, if not for what happened next.

They have several items and things on the menu which are pretty straightforward named "Mac and cheese bites", ect. So she ordered the "cheddar and broccoli" bites. Something one would assume like everything else listed, it's name implies what it is. Unfortunately when my vegetarian wife bit in she was upset to find bacon. It was disappointing but not the end of the world of not a little frustrating that they didn't list it. So we called back to request a refund or some kind of remedy as this is the kind of mess up that can REALLY get someone sick or hurt someone. But instead of apologies and remedies? She was told "we don't do refunds...You should have told us beforehand that you can't eat bacon"... On an item that shouldn't have bacon if not listed?!?

So after she refused to give any refunds or do anything she also refused to give us any numbers or speak to a manager or anything. So I conclusion the food is horrible, the place is dirty, the employees are sitting around on their phones and then the attitude and lack of ANY attempt at customer service is beyond unacceptable

As someone who's been in the culinary industry for over 20 years this is unacceptable food, practices and service... To say I won't be coming back after my overwhelming excitement I had BEFORE walking in would be a gross...

Grunge, yuck, stay away! I saw other ratings and ignored them, boy, I should have listened. The place stank, everywhere was encrusted with grease, creeps me out. Ordered the fried veggie basket, six zuccinni, six onion rings, six mushrooms, don't get your hopes up, the entire order filled a pint sizes tray. Really! Ordered their famous deep fried chicken, others claimed it to be the best, better than KFC, well thirty bucks later for a 12 piece split of 6 thighs and 6 breasts, the ordered was served in less than ten minutes, pretty fast service. Large bag placed on the ready to go, seemed like quick service! Upon getting home and opening the brown paper bag, surprise, the eighteen piece veggie platter was extra crunchy, over cooked in the fryer, the bottom of the box for the chicken was falling apart, soaked in deep fry grease! The chicken order consisted of six backs, no thighs and six breasts. The chicken was overcooked and dry! Remember, I only waited ten minutes for the order to become ready! Beware!!!!! Nothing was fresh, no real food, fifty dollars total bill, stay away, this will be my lesson. Expensive waste of time, better going...

I have been getting delivery from this Pudgies for years & love their hush puppies. Today we ordered the norm-fish & chicken boat, side of fried clams, side of hush puppies. I asked(as usuall)to fry the clams & hush puppies very light. The clams were crunchy-when lightly fried they're chewy. The hush puppies were also cooked too much. When I tried to break one in half, it crumbled. Cooked so much that you couldn't taste the cornmeal! Even my dog who loves cornbread etc took a piece in her mouth & spit it out. I called to complain & she denied what I was telling her! She said she looked at it b4 it went out & they were lightly fried. I even told her that my husband had no teeth and he could not eat it cause it was hard. She insisted that if they were done any less,they would be raw. I explained that I have had them do it as I asked many times before. I was put on hold for a few minutes to hear her say she was sorry and hung up! I've never been treated like this and the food has never been so greasy. I gave 3 stars because the fish & chicken...
