I dont know what happened to this restaurant. When it first opened it was so busy you needed a reservation. I used to dine here frequently. I recently went back and on a Friday it was completely dead. 2 tables were filled at 6:30. I walked in and there was no host up front. The bar was completely empty and the bartender just stood there looking at us. The host finally came up front after 5 minutes and I asked if I had a reservation which I did but clearly didn't need. I asked to sit outside because it was so cold in the dining room. We were seated, our server Michael, who was excellent, came and greeted us, took our drink order, drinks were great, and then the rest of our order. Completely over staffed for a dead night. 7 employees were standing by the bar and the inside bartender made several appearances as well. They were all congregating at the outside bar. One employee was sitting on a high top chair reading a book. The music was at a reasonable level until the female manager decided to crank it up with club music. I asked to have it lowered since I was sitting by the speaker. The manager came out shot me a dirty look and never lowered it. I asked Michael if he could lower it and he did. Our appetizer the meatballs came out very quick, and were luke warm. Our entrees: Shirt rib and chicken alfredo were just ok. The food declined significantly. I asked our server what happened to this place and he said Patchogue Main Street was the reason. Now im in the restaurant business for over 25 years and I own a consulting company, im not sold that it is Patchogue. I questioned his response to my question and he said well you know when things change people notice. Its a shame cause this place was my go to restaurant for so long. Between the music, the food, and the employees standing at the bar clearly having nothing to do was a huge eye opener. I hope this place turns itself around. My girlfriend asked me why is everyone standing around I feel like im being watched. I said well when your this slow what do you expect them to do when they are over staffed.
Maybe a menu change, new management is in order, a conversation with the executive chef. The owners should really evaluate the kitchens recipe execution.
When we left the outside bartender was smoking in the parking lot by the back entrance.
Def not worth the 130.00 bill I paid for. We actually went a grabbed something to eat after we left somewhere else as we didn't finish our dinners.
Ristegios, get it together! Hire someone to come and look at your operation and get an action plan going to increase foot traffic. Its a shame cause the place is beautiful. Main Street Patchogue is not the reason you are dead on a...
Read moreDON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Last night, I went to Ristegio's in Patchogue. Due to health issues, it was my first night out where I couldn't eat normal food in 10 months. Over the course of a few years, this would be my 4th time there and will never be back. Everytime very unsatisfied. This was for my friends birthday dinner. Reservations for party of 8. Started out with table set for 7. 1 hour to get our first drinks, another hour to get appetizers, a couple in our party got their apps 30 minutes before everyone else. I got the fried calamari. Came out cold. I sent it back and 2 minutes later they were back after microwaving it. Still not hot and very chewy. An 1-1 1/2 hours later after apps, dinner showed up. Plates were put in front of the wrong people. Everyone's dinner was not hot. My wife's steak and my Chilean sea bass weren't even warm. We sent them both back. They came back out 5 minutes later and they microwaved it again (I know because I put a finger in the mashed potatoes before sending it back and it was the same plate when it came back.) Any decent restuarant I've been to, if you send it back because of it being cold they should refire the meal, not microwave it. (Especially at $45-$55 a plate.) My wife's steak was supposed to be medium rare, it was now gray inside. Absolute shoe leather and inedible. Mine was still cold, fish turned to rubber, risotto turned to paste. I couldn't eat mine as well. They took my wife's dinner off the bill. The waitress poured water into someone fairly full glass of prosecco. Who does that? Wine is in a wine glass and water is in a different type of glass. She came back to the table with just an empty wine glass. We made her replace it with a glass of prosecco. The waitress stated that we were killing her. Then, they kept send over free sodas to my wife and I without asking for them because they knew we weren't happy. We actually had to make them stop bringing them, because we were still on our first glass and had a spare already. (Management, you can't make things right with a .50 cent glass of soda.) Now, people who know me, know I love good food and don't mind spending a lot of money for it. I also don't usually like to rant about things but I just had to warn people about this horrible restuarant. In the end, we got there at 7:00 and finished eating at 10:45. I was so hungry, I actually had to go to Wendy's to get something to go. Their food...
Read moreFood for dinner is always delicious. Went there today for a Mother's Day Brunch and it was by far the worst experience we could have had. Everyone at our table wanted to get up and walk right out the door once we sat down with all our "hot" food we got. It was a buffet style dining. An omelette station, "hot" pasta, pancakes, sausage, bacon, potato's etc all in chafing dishes. They had some pastries, and salads as well.
All the "hot" food that was in the chafing dishes were ice cold like they were in the fridge and put in the chafing dishes. Everyone In our party were very annoyed and disappointed we decide to come here. Especially that we paid $49.95 for adults and $24.95 for kids. Upon saying something to the manager and or owner they were very shocked. They went and checked the food themselves. The food was cold. He advised me to get an omelette if I wanted something hot, so I did. Our reservation was at 11 so there was no excuse to be serving guess cold food that is clearly cold. The manager or own were not very helpful at all. He advised me to tell me what everyone at my party wants to eat and let him no. If this is the case I would have not going to a brunch buffet style dinning. They didn't even send anyone over to our table to ask us what we wanted. He wanted me to do get the list of what each person wanted. If that's the case, you should be paying me as your employee, not as a paying customer.
If it wasn't for my family I would have walked right out when I sat down and found out you decided to service cold food that clearly isn't suppose to be service right out of the fridge likes eggs and bacon, or even pasta.
Unfortunately I do not think anyone in our party will be going back there for another dinning experience. As well as other guests we were talking to next to our table and online went for an omelette .
Very embarrassing and poor dinning experience. Spent over $400 in a hr for cold food. We had to stop at the deli on the way home to picked up a warm/hot egg sandwich after leaving there with barely eating anything.
Manager/owner was in denial that the food was clearly cold and refused to do anything other they have me wait on my own table and report back to them. That's the last thing I was planning on doing when I went out for Mother's Day Brunch. The manager or owner never came to the table to...
