⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely disappointing experience with Applebee’s in Jamestown, NY.
I placed a carry-out order through Uber Eats and arrived at the restaurant expecting a quick pickup. Instead, I was met with confusion, indifference, and honestly some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced — and I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade.
When I walked in, I stood politely behind guests being seated. Several employees passed me without acknowledgment. After about five minutes, I asked someone for help and was told to go stand “under the TV” in the middle of the restaurant — yes, in the middle of a walkway — with absolutely no signage or direction. I stood there awkwardly, feeling stared at by every table around me, while employees continued to avoid eye contact.
Eventually, I asked another staff member, who coldly said, “That’s not me, but I’ll find someone.” She returned a few minutes later, again without looking at me, and just pointed vaguely toward a high-up shelf in a staff-only area and said, “That’s yours.” No name check, no confirmation, no professionalism.
I retrieved my order myself from behind the counter like I was stealing it, all while patrons continued watching me like I didn’t belong there. The entire experience was uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I was made to feel like a burden just for picking up food I paid for.
If you're deciding between Applebee’s and another local restaurant — do yourself a favor and choose the other place. I know I will...
Read moreWorst experience dining. The issues started far before the power went out, but that just added fuel to the fire. Meals came at very different times. Items were cold or missing sides/toppings. We had received almost all of our meals before losing power. When the power went out the waiter came to each table manually asking and writing down each person’s order and then tallying the totals. Even tables that never received their entrees were expected to stick around to cover their drink orders. This process took an exceptionally long time. No discount or comps were offered for the inconvenience. The manager seemed to have no idea what to do and never came around to apologize or explain the situation. The waiter (who had no authority or control) was the only one left to deal with the frustrated customers. I understand this is a unique situation but several employees opted to snap back with sarcastic and snarky remarks when questioned by customers about what was going on. A bartender got in a customers face and there again was no positive involvement from the manager. It would seem appropriate for the manager to come to the table with said bill, apologize, offer a discount, and thank us our patience. Applebees as a corporation should reassess their policy. That was an awful experience. I expect a prompt response to...
Read moreThe manger Erin carry's a very apathetic and uncaring attitude with customers. Very unreasonable person. Any waitress worth their salt will inform a customer there will be a charge for a substitution. No, they want you to sit and read the whole menu while they stand there taking your order instead of just telling you to find out there'll be a charge. We were led to believe there'd be no charge for a vegetable change on an order. We get the bill with an xtra $2.00 charge on it. Erin the manager said its on the menu. So instead of the waitress just telling us we were expected to sit there, WHILE she was taking our order and read where on the menu it says that instead of just telling us. We had to fight with the mgr to get the charge dropped because we weren't told there was a charge. Our waitress said she'd get us a to go container. We were ready to go. She never brought it to us. We had to ask another waitress to get one. This is a very poorly manged and uncaring to customers needs restaurant. A very unfriendly, apathetic and unattentive to customer needs staff. If you want a nice restaurant experience in Jamestown, NY, don't go to Applebee's. The apple has...
