Worst experience of my whole life. Today I took my girlfriend there to eat, we debated on even going, seeing how the last several visits we're bad, and the price has gone up. My girlfriend ended up throwing up in her napkin after eating just one crawfish, her favorite. My food was also unbelievable. However, we paid for our meal regardless, $17 a piece, separately. I mentioned to the waitress how the quality had suffered, she said nothing although she knew enough English to respond to everything else we said. When she brought back our change she hovered directly over our table, saying thank you as I picked up my change, but when I put it in my pocket she says " oh, no tip?" I replied, " of course I won't be tipping, I paid $17 dollars for the worst food I have ever had" all while my girlfriend was filing out her check slip. I grabbed my keys, turned to get up, and the waitress stood directly in front of my booth, not allowing me out of my seat. I had no option but to brush by her while she continued to stare down my girlfriend. I walked to the hostess and said " I hate to be rude but I just want to mention.." she didn't let me finish before asking if my waitress was rude. "She does this all the time". After a short discussion, a gentleman walked over and intervened, not fully hearing my concern before the waitress joined in, telling him she bumped into me...this was not the case. They then refused to refund us one meal, saying " you chose to come here, you didn't have to come here." I walked the man to the buffet and pointed out several very discusting things I could see with my own eyes, including another customers plate that sat on the serving table the entirety of our meal. Eventually, I was refunded approximately $15.
We have spent many dinners at this particular restaurant, and it's been worse every time, this was our fault for going. The behavior of the staff and management, everyone but the hostess, was absolutely disgusting, and the only reason I asked for my money back. One star is too many.. don't waste your time or hard...
Read moreSakura is an easy to find restaurant that is unassuming in the outside, with much to offer on the inside.
I liked:
The decor and atmosphere. It is a casual dining restaurant decorated neatly and is spacious and has comfortable distance between tables for making for more private conversations.
The variety of foods. All my favorite Chinese foods were on display and there was an American food section and rather large dessert section.
The Hibachi grill is a perk and was tasty.
I disliked:
Table service. I ran out of water midway through my meal and it wasn't offered to be refilled until I had completed my meal. The wait staff knew it was empty because they cleared my dishes a couple times.
The pricing. Pricing was unclear. It seems the hibachi grill was not a part of the lunch buffet, so my bill ended up being more than double what I intended to pay. This was a hard hit.
General Tso's and crab Rangoon were tasteless and are usually my favorite Chinese foods. Disappointing.
Neither here nor there:
No soy sauce on the table. I expect this might have been a COVID precaution.
Only three hibachi sauces were available: soy, terayaki, and garlic. I would have appreciated a couple more varieties.
Hard ice cream, but no cones! Hard ice cream is a perk, but I prefer to take my ice cream to go and alas, could not.
The bottom line: I will probably go back again but will find someone who can speak better English who can explain the pricing and I'll make time to enjoy my ice cream before leaving...
Read moreThe food has been on a steady decline since it first opened a few years ago. I often find myself failing to determine whether I am eating food or styrofoam. For a $15 dinner buffet, I must say that while I enjoy the overwhelming abundance of variety offered, the old adage of “jack of all trades, master of none” holds up very well in this case. At least they have the respect to offer their customers a mint to clear the tastes from their mouths on the way out. The food wouldn’t be nearly as much of a problem if their staff was a redeeming quality. The hostess has persisted to always be a bright and smiling face when you walk in, and stands out as one of the only members of staff with any decency. Our waitress hovered over us the entire time we ate, refused to give any privacy when figuring out a tip, and then she had the absolute gall to ask me directly what I had tipped. I guarantee the only reason they are still able to keep their doors open is because there are just enough people in this town who keep forgetting how bad their experience is here, like myself, and continue to blindly give this business a...
