At first glance I thought this place was going to be excellent - it has all the potential in the world. The menu is cool and innovative and the atmosphere, though small is unique. I was a little turned off by all the signage posted throughout making it clear that 'the customer is always right' is NOT their policy. It's more like 'you get what you get, if you don't like it, don't come here'. Despite that, the food was good - but my pancake came in two pieces, which I thought was a little low end. You would think they would make another if they broke one...
On the second, AND LAST visit, we were seated outside. We then waited for 45+ minutes for two measly pancake orders. We were not even told 'sorry for the wait' once. When we asked about the hold up they said it was because there was additional seating outside...a whopping 4 tables! Please.. Anyway, then when the food came it was the wrong order. At that point I wasn't going to wait another 45 minutes for more pancakes. When we got up to leave, food in-tact, they said sorry but made us pay the FULL bill - not even a small discount. Starving, we had to leave and pay for another full breakfast somewhere else. Oh and another thing, we asked for sugar free syrup b/f the meal came and when they brought a small amount and we asked for more, they said that was all they had in the restaurant. It's a good thing neither of us is diabetic. That's just bad business.
I'll NEVER go here again. It has potential but the customer service is awful. I hope they enjoyed the $30 we paid for a meal we didn't even eat b/c that is all they'll ever...
Read moreReally had a great opinion about this place about 10 years ago and living in the area at the time we were regulars there. Unfortunately, agoing back after several years it's not the same feeling. The new sitting area in the back is amazing and such a cool view with a nice ambiance, but that's really it as far as positives.
The service was 3 stars, passable, but not friendly and was mostly provided by the bus boy. The coffee is now served in paper cups vs. mugs.
The prices have gone up tremendously, ($15-16 for an omlette), much more than one would expect as an adjustment to inflation. It seems the owner has either let the prior success get to his head and thinks he can charge more for less or is genuinely struggling to make ends meet.
The food.. the food was the biggest disappointment for the price. Eggs bene canadian bacon was dry anf served on a semi stale muffin, with the smallest amount of hollandaise sauce to compensate -home fries were good. All in all I hope they improve with not cheaping out at the expense of customer prices and...
Read moreWhen you walk into Countryside you instantly feel like you're at home. No matter what you are welcomed by a friendly face. The menu is unlike any other. The dishes are innovative and delicious and the pancakes are out of this world. They have every flavor you can imagine. The food is extremely fresh too. You really get your bang for your buck. This isn't just an ordinary bacon egg and cheese we're talking about. The atmosphere is fun and friendly as well. By the second time you go there Leon and Christina, the owners, will most likely greet you by name. They make such an effort to get to know their customers. You can tell there are true bonds of friendship formed there. Sitting at the counter is like watching a show and it's clear that Lee and Christina really try to make things fun for customers. Really great people! If the food doesn't keep you going back, the...
