UNBELIEVABLE vegetarian and vegan eats with a creative menu and portions sized like if they were Super Mario after he ate the super mushroom.
This place serves up organic, traditional, vegan (but also vegetarian and can basically turn almost anything into gluten free upon request). You want it, just say it. They can mix and match and adapt to your dietary needs which is so awesome especially when sitting down with a group of dietary alternative friends. It makes it easy and anyone can order what they want without feeling bad (physically and emotionally haha).
Where do I even BEGIN with the food, the true star of the show.
Came here with a dear friend that wanted to treat us to lunch and I was convinced I wanted to go the bowl route but when I saw chicken and waffles with fried oyster (I think) mushrooms instead of chicken, I was SOLD.
This is such a hard one to ever be able to order since the only substitution theyâll ever give you is fruit, or simply just a Belgian waffle. Not at Brooklyn Organic Kitchen. You order, they DELIVER. And my deliver I mean SLAY. Wow wow wow. Please look at my mushroom chicken and waffles, a work of art drizzled in this hot agave syrup with a kick. Just a touch. I told you the portions were super Mario size and just take a look at it, double âchickenâ double waffle.
You can order and share because the sizing here is huge. Yes, the prices are a little bit more elevated but youâre also paying to eat organic food, with (almost) any dietary restriction possible.
I also tried the vegan Philly cheese steak and my brain isnât doing well at comprehending HOW that mushrooms cut looked like meat. My brain is unwell at how they got it just RIGHT.
From the flavors, to the portions to the presentation BOK is an incredible gem that Iâm so glad we got to discover thanks to our friend.
We left full, satisfied and with to go boxes but my belly was happy the next day getting to enjoy waffles (with fruit this time) right from home. It probably wonât be possible for you to leave room for dessert since they kind of donât even let you leave with any room for even breathing after enjoying delicious homemade food BUT, if you so were inclined to or even managed to masterfully leave room for dessert (super Mario size), they do have muffins, cinnamon rolls, cake, cookies, cupcakes - all kinds of things.
Canât wait to give those a try next time. We will try to think ahead and share so we can actually leave room for dessert...
Read moreIâve never left a bad review in my life. I am that type of person (gen z) who will tip 30% or more every time i go out to eat even if a waiter wasnât nice to me. I feel terrible writing this but I have to share.
So a few weeks ago i ordered lunch for my break and someone else went to go pick it up for me and bring it to my work. They waited around 40 minutes at the store after showing up 40 minutes after the order was placed. (the stated wait time) Therefore it took an hour and 20 minutes at minimum for this food to be made. I ordered a kale salad and beyond burger. The girl at the register was extremely apologetic and even offered 2 free muffins!! Amazing service, i wouldnât of expected that, I mean the kitchen gets backed up some times life happens itâs just some food.
However, Of course this was a huge inconvenience because i barely had time to eat on top of waiting 40 minutes after the pick up time. I wish I could be able to depend on a place like this as itâs so highly priced, vegan and organic! You canât find that anywhere around here. Anyways, I will live itâs ok.
Beyond burger was mediocre, tasted almost raw, though in the end, not really any problems with that meal. I go to take a bite of my salad and a giant piece of hair is stuck in the kale. it was lodged in there like I had to pull this hair out from the middle of my salad. As you can probably guess, I worked the rest of my shift very hungry that day. Wouldnât come back, however staff is extremely nice and welcoming. Just not a...
Read moreFirst things first, Vegan! Fulll menu (or as complete as I have seen around here) and then options for both (Traditional and Vegan).
I have visited a few times, also with family, have tried a good portion of the menu and overall this is an outstanding option. The care and atrentions of everyone go out their way to explain and accommodate. Place is spotless clean, decor and ambient music very pleasing. The outdoor sitting area is also very appealing, good view of the lake (Mahopac) marina.
It goes without saying the food ranges from very good to amazing, imho. The best part is that there are so many options for everyone to try, there is a high chance you will find something to delight your taste and cravings (vegan đ±).
Adding some color to all this, I come and still visit the city (NYC) and other places out and about, BOK is a true solid option by any standard. Give it a try!
Only one observation: the espresso extraction can use some refinement, better crema and tuning âïž
PS: Iâd like to respect everyoneâs opinion but when I see someone issuing a rating (low) without sitting here and experiening the food, the care, the place, attention and people it is inevitably upsetting, it reduces all to price and that personâs impression of putting value to others hard work⊠without even trying!!! GMa*B.
Come in, give it a try, buy as you see fit and then help others based on a fair and...
