Excellent food, atrocious service!

Went in for my the first & last time on Sunday (10/20). We were the only people at the bar (and for about 45 whole mins., the only people in the bar area), and the kid serving us was unbelievably unprofessional. Literally spent the entire time blasting anime on one of the T.V.’s with his girlfriend.

I was extremely polite and even tipped over 20% for just two people and he never handed back my card. He just went in the back to fool around with his girlfriend!

I went in today to retrieve my card and he didn’t even recognize me, so him requesting my ID was absurd. (Yes, I’m aware that it’s protocol, but he could’ve greeted me, apologized and then quickly requested it purely as a formality.)

Also, there was no attempt to reach out to me or contact my bank! I’ve never had someone not give me back my card, and I’ve certainly never had a place hold my property hostage or just straight-up neglect my lost belongings.

Also, the kid said he only works on Sundays (total lie), which is why I gave such a big tip — NEVER again! Please avoid this place at all costs, especially if a perpetually stoned hoodie-wearing Gen Z-er is...

We met friends there for Cinco de Mayo 2017. What a complete scam. They advertised that they’d be giving out free shots every hour, yet we never saw even one free shot. We grabbed a menu and ordered only to find out we couldn’t use the regular menu and had to use the “special” Cinco de Mayo menu. Guess what? Compared to the regular menu, and according to our friends who’ve been there before, the “special” menu got us much smaller portions for much higher prices. That’s really special, isn’t it? Here’s what we got: Margaritas in SMALL plastic cups packed with ice for $10 and $12.50 each! Two TINY beef empanadas on a plate for $9.99. The smallest order of nachos I’ve seen in my life for $11.99. Five jalapeno poppers (three were very small) for $7.99. And none of the food wow-ed us. All told, we spent $94 and were still starving and had four cups full of ice left. We really felt we were ripped off. We won’t be going back and we can’t recommend the place. Service was excellente, atmosphere was excellente, but the food was eh. I think people should come here for the drinks because the drinks were good. The guacamole was ok but tasted different than anything else I have tasted. The salsa was kinda weird my husband said they used roasted peppers, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t excellente either. The tacos 🌮 well I didn’t understand why they put white cheese on it? My husband said it was mozzarella and that doesn’t taste really great unless it’s on a pizza. Then there was the meat my husband said it was ground beef and not a steak taco. Mine was chicken and it tasted weird and dry like it was from a rotisserie chicken that had been cooked all day and dried up. The dessert was ok but very light and fluffy my husband even asked if there was anything to it but it the tres leche cake was decent. Definitely would come back for drinks or dessert but the other food...
