A.N.S. Seafood Market — Restaurant in Town of Carmel

I have been purchasing seafood from the original A.N.S. Seafood in Elmsford for 2 decades. Their prices are much more reasonable than the two fishmongers in Mt. Kisco, and levels above the stuff you get in a supermarket. The owner, Nick Konstantakopoulos, is up everday at 2 am to go to the Fulton Fish Market, that’s how fresh the fish is! Given how far my home is from Elmsford I could not have been more excited to find out about their new store in Mahopac, which is considerably closer to where I live.

Went there for the first time a coupla days ago and could not be happier! The store is clean and bright, with the delicious smell of super fresh fish. The selection and prices are the same as the Elmsford location. Nick, who mans the counter could not have been more helpful.

Unlike the location in Elmsford, this location also has a café. I can’t wait to have a meal there. And if you aren’t interested in what’s on the menu they will prepare whichever piece of fish you select from the case for $5 over the retail price.

On this occasion I purchased sashimi grade tuna and salmon to make poke bowls at home. The quality of the fish was, as always, spectacular!

A note to anyone looking for fresh lobsters: the store does not yet have lobster tanks installed, just give them a call in the morning and they will bring your bugs up from Elmsford in time for dinner.

Needed grilled seafood to take home. Googled, found A.N.S. Seafood Market. I will always try anything once. If I like a place, I will post a review and frequent it. If I don’t, I would never bash a place - I simply won’t go again and will advise anyone that asks my opinion accordingly. Ample parking. Walked into a clean atmosphere warmly greeted by the owner. Such a nice guy that I really, really wanted to at least like the food. I love the idea that you can pick whichever seafood you are in the mood for (and he has an impressive selection) from the display case which you pay by weight and then + $5 for them to prepare it as you choose (grilled, seared or fried). During lunch, it comes with fries and house-made coleslaw. Had the grilled shrimp, calamari and scallops. Well…unfortunately we didn’t like it - WE FRIGGIN L O V E D IT - O M G SHUT THE FRONT DOOR - WAAAAAAAAAAA - HOLY GUACAMOLE, GOOD LORD UP IN HEAVEN! Even though the food was in transit for approximately 25 minutes (we did take out) - I cannot express how delicious everything was. So soft and mouth watering delicious. I have been a loyal customer of the A.N.S. store in Elmsford for more than a decade. There is quite literally NO competition that even comes close to providing the quality, price, and service unless you're hauling a catch out of the ocean yourself.

When we moved up to Carmel last year, I dutifully drove down to purchase whatever I needed, and it was worth the trip every time. You can't imagine my joy when I discovered they've just opened a satellite store in Mahopac - it was like the best early Christmas present!

I danced in today to place my holiday order. We also had take-out from them this evening, and everything was spectacular: tremendous fried shrimp, excellent clam chowder, and scallops wrapped in prosciutto. The owners are lovely, and the shop itself is huge and so clean it sparkles. You have the option to dine in if you choose - plenty of space and tables available.
