Read moreThis place has a 4.9 rating so we were excited to try them. Well, here's the epic tale of my recent culinary adventure, which felt more like a comedy of errors than a fine dining experience. We ( 4 diners) visited this place with high hopes due to their near perfect ratings but, alas, it was if the restaurant gods decided to test my sense of humor. From the get go, the signs were as subtle as a bullhorn at the library. Our bread, much like my hopes for the evening, arrived at the table burnt to a crisp. To add a touch of suspense, our lovely waiter decided it was the perfect time to engage in a game of hide-and-seek because we waited for a solid 40 minutes without a single check-in. Maybe they thought we were playing "who can sit still the longest." lol. We thought ordering a bottle of wine might lift our spirits, but instead, we were subjected to the most daring wine-pouring performance of all time. Our waiter channeled his inner daredevil by skipping the customary taste test and went straight for the full pour. Bravo! The wine was lovely (not really), but I didn't know I had joined a circus act. Next up, I ordered the seafood pasta dish with white wine and garlic, which was an adventure in its own right. The dish, meant to be a pasta with sauce, instead resembled the murky waters of our lake after the recent heavy rain. Our final act featured the grilled octopus, which had some mighty fine grill marks, but I couldn't help but wonder if it was prepping for a slip n slide competition. It was so slimy that I half-expected it to shout, "whee!" as it made its way off my fork! As the meal came to a close, the chef made a brief appearance to apologize for the lengthy wait. Apparently, they were short-staffed in the kitchen. I must commend their honesty, but it didn't save the day. In a last-ditch effort to make amends, they offered us some port. Unfortunately, even the sweetest of wines couldn't wash away the taste of disappointment.
In conclusion, the restaurant did try to salvage the situation, but it was like trying to mend a sinking ship with a band-aid. I appreciate their effort, but the overall experience and food quality left me craving for something better.
One diner order ed the steak and said it was "ok." Overall, the food was just "OK" not horrible but not amazing either. Like another reviewer said, it's definitely not worth spending...
Read moreI visited Stone House Bar & Grill restaurant tonight and it provided an absolutely memorable dining experience for myself and my pregnant friend and her two young children. From the moment we stepped inside, the ambiance was warm and inviting, offering a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance. The dim lighting, and cozy seating created an intimate yet family-friendly atmosphere, making us feel instantly comfortable.
One of the standout aspects of our visit was the impeccable service. Arte, along with the rest of the staff, was exceptionally polite and attentive. From ensuring my friend had a comfortable seat to offering thoughtful recommendations, their hospitality was top-notch. They were accommodating to the children, providing a kid-friendly menu and making sure their meals arrived promptly. Their attentiveness never felt forced; rather, it was genuine and reassuring, adding a personal touch to our evening.
Neither of us had ever had octopus, so we decided to share an appetizer. It was absolutely delicious. We were both pleasantly surprised at how tender it was; and the slight char from the grill added extra flavor that we both enjoyed.
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the ribeye steak. Cooked to perfection, it arrived with a beautifully seared crust and a juicy, tender interior. The marbling was excellent, enhancing the flavor and richness of each bite. The steak was seasoned just right, allowing the quality of the meat to shine without being overwhelmed by excessive seasoning or sauce. Accompanied by a side of buttery mashed potatoes and crisp seasonal vegetables, the dish was both indulgent and satisfying.
Beyond the ribeye, the menu offered a variety of options that catered to different tastes, ensuring that my friend and her children also had delicious meals suited to their preferences.
Despite the restaurant’s refined setting, the staff remained warm and approachable, making it a comfortable place for a family meal.
Overall, our experience at Stone House was exceptional. The combination of outstanding food, welcoming ambiance, and the professionalism of Arte and her colleagues made our visit truly special. It was more than just a meal—it was a reminder of how great service and quality cuisine can transform dining into an unforgettable experience. We look forward to...
