J&J Smokehouse BBQ — Restaurant in Town of Catskill

This place is absolutely amazing. Now listen, it is August 2024 in 4 hours, and the price for me just to get a sandwich(and mind you, the amount of meat I get on each sandwich is A LOT! 2 meals a lot)

Now it costs me 15 dollars for just myself when I go in( not including the tip, which please, ensure you are tipping at least 15 percent my bros) and it is amazing all-around.

The quality is top notch, the amount of food per order is above literally every other place I have ever been in my 31 years of living.

This place is not to be slept on, it’s super fast to order and be ready if you just walk in also. Literally faster than fast food and legit multiple meals for each order made per person.

Delicious food, great price for the amount given, and really friendly staff with all having a good, present and happy attitude the 4-6 times I have been there.

I really suggest this place more than anywhere, truly, can’t imagine anyone being disappointed with how they are currently. I really hope they never change in a negative direction as they get bigger, but I can only hope. And by that, I mean I hope they never start making the size of the order smaller to compensate for the popularity increasing over time.

Legitimately, nowadays fast food costs the same amount and it’s…. Less than desirable at fast food nowadays. This is top notch for the price and size of said order. Trust me, it’s gonna be a place you return to after the first time.

Before I tell you about J&J Smokehouse BBQ. I want to say, sometimes you get a vibe that is intuitive or some other sensory igniter that gets your attention. That preamble is partly responsible for my stop at J&Js. The other factor was due to the rendezvous point between a good friend and I, being closed. We were to meet on our Motorcycles roughly half way between our homes. Hour to the North for Her and similarly for me. The business was closed and in the hot parking lots asphalt, I decided to go and find somewhere else either open or, at least, get a cold water. I ventured thru downtown Catskill and on the last glance before I turned around, there was J& Js. I wondered in for a water and that's the vibe part. Just felt right. So my friend texted, I went to the original mtg place and she rode her bike as I rode mine back to J and Js. I ordered the special which I forgot the name of...lol. She ordered a salad. I did not feel like cooking for New Year’s and decided to order in. There has been a lot of positive talk about J&J’s and I can see why, from the food to the service to the place itself. I put the order in online via their website the week before - SUPER easy to use the ordering system and choose exactly what we wanted. They had a special for New Year’s with a rack of ribs, pulled pork and pulled chicken, cornbread, rolls, and a bunch of their homemade sides - so we got try all kinds of things in one meal. As I was heading to pick it up on New Year’s Eve, I got an automated text that our order was ready, which was cool. Picking it up, my first time in the place - you could eat off the floor. The place is immaculate. Both Jim and Jill were there to greet a first time customer, they are super friendly and rounded out the positive experience so far. The stuff was packed well and easy to transport. Then the food - WOW. I do NOT care for ribs usually. But these did the job! They were smoked, not greasy at ALL.
