Labeling with stars is hard to do here but worth the read. We love coming here for ice cream and have been many, many times over the past few years. They have Perry's which is one of my favs, so they get good ratings for the ice cream portion of this experience.
Let's talk about the cafe. I've driven by for weeks wanting to stop in to try their breakfast/coffee. No one ever there should've been a sign. My husband and I stop in at 9:15 on a Saturday morning. We order 2 iced lattes and 2 breakfast sandwiches to-go. I asked what the breakfast flatbread was, in which he responded he didn't know because he never made one. As soon as I paid, the young worker called someone to tell them I'd ordered iced lattes, seemingly getting advice on how to make them over the phone. He proceeded to make our food and drinks over the course of the next 45 minutes. Overall, we left at 10:00 with our coffee and food. Since we sat there for so long, we got to admire how truly dirty the floors, tables, and walls were. At times, I thought of asking for a refund, but I know it's not his fault he was not trained properly to run a cafe on a Saturday morning. We were the only people that came in within that 45 minutes and my order number was #1. The first bite into my egg and cheese on an everything bagel was instantly determined to be a Thomas Bagel. I paid $7.50 for a Thomas Bagel, slice of cheese, and egg. I could've made this at home for $1 worth of supplies. My thought is that if I want it fast, I'm not going to a small time cafe, I'm going to Dunkin'. If I want a truly homemade item, fresh baked goods, etc. this is the type of place you're picking. I was hoping to turn something small into my new favorite coffee shop, like Sweet Aroma in Central Square or Lyric Coffee House in Clayton. This place is full of disappoint, and would 0/10 recommend the cafe side of this place...

At first this place was my new favorite because they offered Gluten Free options but especially their GF cookiewich ice cream sandwiches! They were yummy and literally perfect! The cookies were soft but also delicious and little crunchy! But then they started to put the cookiewich soft ice cream sandwiches in the cooler/fridge.
Now it’s pretty common knowledge that ice cream needs to stay frozen or it melts. Well when they put the cookiewiches in the fridge and they melted, got soggy and syrupy. Not good at all, but I thought it was common knowledge to keep ice cream frozen. They offered to make me a new fresh one which is nice but they used soft ice cream so they second I took a bite the soft ice cream went out the sides, again not good. I just ate a cookie with ice cream falling out the sides. So I didn’t go back for a couple weeks. When I did go back they had a fresh batch and they were stored in the freezer, all is good in the world again for a couple weeks until today.
When I went back today to get another cookiewich, but again they were stored in the cooler/fridge so they were soggy and melted again. I’m sorry but I’ve cream needs to be kept frozen, especially when I contact with a cookie otherwise it melts and creates a mess. Again common sense.
I asked for my money back and left. Now the girls that work the stand are always kind, helpful and I’ve never had a problem with the kids working, they do a great job with all other aspects I’ve seen when going with friends or getting ice...

My first visit with the new ownership the staff was so rude that I didn't want to give it a second chance. My order was put down incorrectly and when I questioned the Sunday I did not order the girl was visibly irritated. Once it was corrected, my son (7) was given a different, but incorrect ice cream. When I politely and apologetically asked for the correct one, I was met with an eye roll and an, "Are you sure?!". I was walking on eggshells the whole ordering process and still ended up feeling like a Karen. The ice cream was ok, but the whole ordering fiasco ruined the whole experience when I was just trying to do a nice special thing with my kids.
Well my husband wasn't with me that trip, and he wanted to try for himself. So I did give it another chance. This trip was much better, so it seems to me that they are getting it together and my first experience was hopefully just the difficulty that comes with opening a new place. The staff was more polite this time, and they had more ice cream flavor options.
We will be back again. I hope the service stays consistent, because it really is a nice ice...
