I purchased a cake on October 4th. The woman at the cashiers desk was so rude & nasty. As I was ordering she walked away from me without saying excuse me. She went to the back for what felt like about 5 mins. Came back and rang me up and told me the price. I told her “ I wasn’t finshied ordering mam” she said “oh what else” I gave her my order and she told me the price. As I was handing her my credit card she pointed to the counter. I placed my card on the counter. The cashier snatched the card swiped it and put my card & receipt on the counter. As I was waiting for my cake I decided to pick out candles for my cake. I asked her the price and she yelled “NEXT”. The sweet lady behind me said “well you can finish with her I don’t mind waiting” the cashier turned to me and said “ now what was that” I said “ I was asking for the price of the candles” she then turned the stand and said “ prices are right there”. I paid for the candles and she did the same thing with my credit card again. When my cake was ready she came out and placed a cake on the counter and rushed to the back. I didn’t know if the cake was mine so I continued to wait. The cashier then stuck her head out from the back and said “ that’s your cake right there” I took my cake and left. That was my first & LAST time at carousel cakes! No matter how good the cakes are the customer service is HORRIBLE. If she did that to me I can only imagine how many others the cashier has done this to. Don’t spend your money with a company that has rude & disrespectful people as the face of...
Read moreI arrived at 8:45 am two days before Christmas and waited on line outside in 30° weather before getting inside the store. I checked the menu they have posted inside the store. Several items were noted as "out of stock" but the cake I wanted was not among them, so I waited. When called, I asked for the cake I wanted in the 7" size. She checked the freezer, returned and said they were out of it. I asked if they had the larger size (duh?), and she went and checked again. She returned and said they were out of that, too. Would I like anything else? I said yes, to have known this before I waited online, and her attitude was just, "okay, whatever, next". I left empty-handed, and I don't return to a place after I've left empty-handed. I have zero tolerance for a food service place that doesn't have the items on its menu available. It's unfortunate that the intended recipient likes this specific cake and it wasn't available, but Carousel certainly isn't the only place to get a good cake and I had an alternate in mind that worked out beautifully. Carousel just wasted my time.
Hey Carousel: you already sell frozen cakes, how about having the inventory? Not like they won't keep. And if you haven't got the inventory and you know people are waiting on a long line in cold weather, how about making it known what you have/don't have before you waste their time? Something posted outside the store would have been appreciated, but your menu board inside the store wasn't...
Read moreI purchased a 3 tier birthday cake and while the cake tasted good, I was displeased with the fact that the Rockland location makes you pick your cake up on Friday when your event is on a Saturday. I have never been to the Jersey location. My event was at 2 pm on a Saturday and I was told I had to pick my cake up the Friday before by 4:30 pm because there was no one in the bakery on a Saturday to correct any issues the cake may have. This information was not given to me the day I ordered and paid for my cake in full. I noticed that there was no pick up time info on the receipt and called to find out how early I could get my cake on Saturday. Had I known this when I ordered my cake I would not have continued with the order.
My suggestion is that the Rockland location has someone available on Saturdays but if this isnt possible then the cake should be boxed by tier in a manner that the customer could store it and assemble it when ready. The cake should NOT come assembled a full day early. I was not able to store the cake in my refrigerator, because what average person can fit a 3 tier cake in their refrigerator. Due to this my cake was leaning by 2 pm on Saturday for the event. Which is RIDICULOUS after paying $400 for a cake.
Imagine how disappointed we were after making it all the way home the day before with the cake being unharmed, which is a 20 min drive. Then an hour before the party the...
