I had to write this review cause I feel most customers should be aware of this specific GameStop location. I had went to the nanuet location GameStop to purchase a PokĆ©mon switch the day of release. Now on the website the price set is around 350 with tax prob be around 388-90 Iām alright with that. Now when I went in to ask for the switch one of the guys donāt know his name but he was working that shift around 6-9pm with another guy who when I ask the price it would be in total he told me 460 and tax. Now Iām like what the heck cause that price was way too much. I left and came back after finding out that wasnāt the price and I ask and got confirmation that was true that it wasnāt the price what happen was he was told by his manager that no one can buy the switch without GameStop warranty. Now I said I didnāt need it and they refuse to sell it without it. Note any store selling warranty they need to ask you first hey you need warranty? And base on your answer then you get it or you donāt. They also had the game box on display with a sticky note with the price too lol. Also the rudeness with how they treat other customers and also purposely not answering the business phone when customers ask for inquiries on certain things. I seen other reviews and it was my fault for not taking the warnings of other unsatisfied customers before going to that store location. I say this store is definitely running a scammer operation and people do not come to this location as they are scammers. I went to the GameStop in Ramsey and had the best customer experience there and what was different about how they did things was. They actually answered the phone. They also ask me while purchasing if I needed warranty āhmmmmš¤ā also they said I needed to be a member to purchase which made sense thatās reasonable. Provided amazing customer service. Again people go to jersey location as they actually know how to run a GameStop. Been going to the nanuet location since little and it always been a bad experience. Was sold on the warranty that if the controller breaks , you get a ābrand new oneā no questions asked .i have bought this warranty many times before and used it with no issues at all . One of my buttons stopped working properly so I brought it in only to meet āWillā . He said GameStops policy since changed and I must take a used controller now in return for exhanging mine with the warranty . 1) if I sold the warranty knowing that itās replaced with someoneās used controller , I would NEVER buy the warranty . 2) apparently their policy is you only get a new controller if they have no controller pre owned to replace it . The only controller they had to replace it was preowned but was modified with blue buttons all over the place , will then lied to me and said the GameStop warehouse does that . I called another store , there is no warehouse that modifies controllers . This was done by the previous client . I didnāt want that controller being that itās modified , and since that was their last controller , I should have been given a new one . Instead I was given corporates number to resolve it with them . Will blatantly lied to me more than once and then he called the manager , refused to let me speak with him and told me to go to another store for a resolution . This is terrible treatment when couldāve just replaced my controller like the last person did 4-5 months ago . Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn December 3rd 2020 at 1pm. My fiancĆ©e and I went into a local gamestop store. The assistant manager there was exceptionally rude from the beginning of the visit to the end. She refused to sale us products and gave us much trouble for trying to exchange a Xbox that we brought to the store and trade in for a PS4. After telling us once that there was no PS4ās rudely to sale at the store, we politely asked if she could look up another location that would have it. She didnāt look at the computer and said no and refused to sell us a ps4. At that time we were open to exchanging for a game and before we could even bring it up she denied exchanging it due to the controller missing a back piece. Calling our entire XBox defected in front all the other customers there. Iāve never been treated so poorly at a retail establishment in my life. My fiancĆ© was so upset that I had to usher him out of the store. The next day I followed up with the manger Kristen in regards to this behavior and she agreed with the protocol and treatment of her assistant manager to us and said she would follow up with the staff member not even extending so little as an apology for our treatment the day before. Despite explaining to her that we were trying to buy a product and the treatment we witnessed was the main concern.
