Although the food was good, my husband and I were not happy with the overall service. This is not to say that the staff wasn't nice - our server was very nice, but there were a couple of issues that ruined the experience for us. We have a child with food allergies, so we called ahead to ask about menu items. The employee we spoke to put us on hold to go check ingredients on all of the pastas and bread, and came back to tell us that most of their pastas, except for a select few, were safe for our child's egg allergy. We really appreciated knowing this ahead of time, so we stopped in for dinner the same evening. When I mentioned our child's allergies to our server, she said that the only safe pasta was the gluten-free penne, and that the bread also had egg in it, which is not the same information we were given over the phone. Even though she didn't go back and check the label on every pasta, we made the decision to only get the gluten-free penne for our child - no big deal, as long as we know the food is safe. It was just a little weird and confusing that we were given different information by two different employees. When we ordered our meals, the server told us that they came with side salads and asked us which ones we wanted. We assumed this meant that the side salads were included in the price of the meal because of how she worded it. When we got the check, there was an extra $22 billed for the salads. We asked our server if it was a mistake and she said it wasn't, that the salads were extra. This would have been nice to know when we were ordering, as we wouldn't have added on salads had we known they were extra. She said that she would ask her manager if she could remove the charge due to the misunderstanding, but then came back and said that the manager would not remove the charge. The whole experience was disappointing and frustrating, and we will...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious food. We have eaten there a few times. This week is Colonie restaurant week. The menu was wonderful.
Unfortunately the service was not wonderful. The waitress would leave and not come back for twenty to thirty minutes. When she finally brought our check, she said she will we be back to get it. After waiting easily 25 minutes I finally got up to bring it a register myself. We were a party of two, we had been there an hour and a half by this time with no sign of the waitress. Another waitress saw me walking with the check and offered to bring it to Our waitress. She was in another dining room with a large party.
Our waitress finally showed up to get the check. I told her quietly that we had waited a long time. No apologies just an enjoy the rest of your night. As we were leaving a manager asked if we enjoyed the food. I answered the food was terrific but the service was not good. She smiled and just said I’m glad you enjoyed it. I was dumbfounded, I said did you hear me? We just waited 25 minutes for a check! She said she would speak to the waitress. Also while it is not noted anywhere online or on the restaurant week menu, you get ONE dessert to share. At $ 45 a person,...
Read moreI have used the counter many times...quick meal on a weekend. Food is normally pretty good. Last visit as I was checking out, the cashier/server (who was wearing short sleeves) had horrible open sores all over her arms and the back of her hands...I didn't want to embarrass her so I didn't say anything. When I got home I just couldn't bring myself to eat what she had touched. I called and spoke to the manager, he was in agreement on her not wearing any protective gloves/clothing and said he would get back to me after taking my phone #, or have someone from Corporate call me. No one did. I was in there the following week....Thankfully the cashier was not there but I did speak to a female "manager" of the counter who I had also spoken with about this and she said she would "follow-up" on it and get back to me. I wasn't looking for anything free...just an apology or some recognition of this issue. I again called the manager and he had no answer why no one had called me. (I bet it was never passed up the chain) Soooo..That is enough info for me. I also wonder why close to the end of the night they allow cleaning and chemicals right next to the open...
