Newton Plaza — Local services in Town of Colonie

I was in the M&T bank in Newton Plaza as I have been going monthly to this location on Saturdays for about a year now as they do not have many locations which open on Saturdays. I go to cash a check, the same check, pay my mortgage and make an account deposit. "EACH" month at this location for about a year at M&T for seven years!!!! Well this time the older women whom had waited on me a few times before and had even attempted to speak with my grandson who has a disability, states I cannot cash the item for you! The same monthly item mind you. She goes in to say I will need to deposit it and place a hold on it. I asked why? She states it's not our check, I say I come here regularly and you have even waited on me a few of times, I perform the it s same transaction monthly to pay my mortgage and I have an account which will cover should you want to put a hold on it towards the funds. She states no I need to hold the check. I ask to speak with the manager as this was unacceptable I have accts here. While standing there awaiting to speak with the manager she takes the very next person in line, a male who is cashing a check but DOES NOT have an account!!! She says ok then can I see your ID? I say are you really going to do this right in my face? I'm standing right here! He had no account and you're going to cash his check!!! When I have a couple accts been coming here over a year and my business had been with this institution for over seven years. The manager here's what's going on and intervenes stating I will assist you. While he apologized and assisted and informed me if I ever have an issue again he gave me his card and stated to come directly to him. But why should I have to jump thru whoops to get serviced? This UPS store was excellent excellent excellent. Let me tell you I had to return DIRECTV equipment and I was told to go to UPS or FedEx FedEx was not nice nope we don’t take it I walked into the UPS store asked if they would take it first, before I brought in my equipment they said yes, I said who pays postage they said Direct TV does and I said do I need to box it up ahead of time no we will do that for you they were so wonderful they scanned it they packed it and off it went DIRECTV was horrible to deal with they said to bring it to one of their centers and none of their centers would take it or they’d say oh a manager Hass to be here the runaround the runaround the runaround with so much gas wasted and then the last place I went they said oh we don’t even on DIRECTV anymore, You can’t bring it here so UPS was wonderful I will use them for everything at...

I have used UPS store on multiple occasions.Mostly because the shipping labels Amazon provides requires I go to a UPS drop off .The drop boxes around the area useless as anything much larger than an envelope is too big.I do wish there was a store closer to home its a little out of the way. The quality of staff can vary greatly.There have been some awful workers from phone skills to knowledge to making an effort.Others are quite good. I'm assuming there's somewhat large turnover.
