Note first please that we were a 15 group who called far ahead and got along well with the waitresses. The music was too loud for what strives otherwise to be fine dining...at least in presentation, silverware, menu and plate. A bit pricey but only if you consider that a steak & potato or Italian dinner should come with at least a salad or small side - they don't. Everyone in our party thought the food very good except for the most important part - the bread...it was like some you might buy in the aisle - not even at the Deli - in a grocery store. They didn't forewarn us when we made arrangements for our group which truly wasn't fair to us who had each traveled a few hours to meet. Not a place for groups larger than eight if you want to have a small affair and even then you must make do with a narrow alcove (and the noise) where everyone on one side of the table must squeeze behind others to manuever in and out. The waitresses were nice but mgr. again, didn't forewarn there'd not be enough help to cover properly. They were willing to split checks which can be very helpful when you need that which we all dislike having to do but sometimes do find ourselves in that predicament. It's not easy for handicapped or wheelchairs unless you forewarn them you need that (it seemed to me). Nice indoor & outdoor waiting & drop off areas. Great parking and It was a pretty place. I've only been once and can't comment on Italian sauces, specifically. Would try it first with just a few people for lunch after I checked the menus and prices. Or go during slower hours the first time. I like to give a place more than one chance before reviewing but won't be back that way for a while. Call ahead if you must be certain of anything. Be sure also to let them know your requirements (it's only fair) as it seemed they had wanted to please but didn't have the experience necessary to host groups and should have made a few important...
Read moreWe used to rave about this place... the food, the ambience, the staff. The last two times has left us not wanting to go back. We can acknowledge that you can have an off day and let it slide. Tonight, we went around 8:30, after peak hours. Was seated in an area with no other patrons. Section next to us had 4 tables with patrons and many others empty. A waitress came over and told us that our server, Molly, was stuck at the bar but would be with us shortly and took our drink order. After waiting 15 minutes, I went to the hostess desk and asked the manager of we could be seated in an area that had servers working. I told him that our server was "stuck at the bar." He apologized and asked where we were sitting. He then went into the kitchen. A moment later, a server came over, no introduction, and asked for our order. I asked if she was Molly. She said "yes." So, this server has actually walked by us 3 times to the other section with no acknowledgement. There was no apology on her part. Food was ok... not as good as it used to be. Steak had no seasoning, not even salt. Never asked if we wanted refills. Needless to say, we always tip 20 to 25 percent knowing how servers work really hard and are not appreciated. Molly was not overly busy and, for our first time ever, we gave her 10 percent. The Clifton Park location won us over about 3 years ago. Started going to the Central Avenue location for the convenience. We will no longer go to that location. Might just say we will not go to...
Read moreYum!! I usually pick Italian restaurants as my last choice when going out to eat based on personal preference. But for my birthday I was really in the mood for a quality steak so my husband and I went here. We arrived around 6 on a Friday and only had wait about 10 minutes for a table. The place is like a well oiled machine. So busy but they have it down. You can see wait staff, managers, bus boys and front end staff bustling around and getting it done! The place is clean, bathrooms are nice and ambiance is just what I’d want in a higher end Italian steakhouse. We shared the kicker up calamari. At first tastes a little like sweet and sour sauce but when you get a bite of the peppers... whoa! Spicy and so tasty. We eat had a couple drinks. My husband ordered the veal parmigiana and the veal was the size of the plate! He was very pleased. I had the 16 oz NY Strip with penne and a side of garlic mashed potatoes and yum! It was a perfect medium rare and the outside was nice and crispy seared. The wait staff sang and brought me a cannoli for my birthday. I believe they do that for celebrations in general like birthdays, anniversaries and pretty much anything you tell them you’re celebrating. Our waitress was lovely and visited us just enough. She anticipated our needs before we knew we had them. Would highly recommend for your occasional celebrations and...
