King Buffet — Restaurant in Town of Cortlandt

I guess I can't expect too much considering the prices, but this place skeeves me out. The food is just okay - there are literally dozens of options, and they include most of what you would expect from a run-of-the-mill Chinese buffet restaurant. It's nearly an identical selection to what most other Chinese buffets would offer, and the food is plentiful and so-so when it comes to quality. This is NOT a fancy place; the entire appeal is that for a cheap, flat price, you can gorge yourself to your fat little heart's content. That's what makes it popular.

For me, what was bothersome was when I was there recently - that is, the conditions of the actual restaurant. I could not believe how dingy the place felt. I was by the window, and the window and windowsill were filthy. The whole place felt run-down, like it needed a good cleaning. Actually, it needs probably some cosmetic work as well. The staff is okay - not rude but not terribly friendly. They kind of act like aliens, to be honest. Very chilly. I get the intensely pressing suspicion that they are very cheap (otherwise, they would update their space so it doesn't look so grimy). I would also venture to guess that they skimp on sanitation. So now...I'm kind of grossed out at having eaten there.

If you want lots of quantity and don't give a hoot about quality (or the cleanliness of the restaurant), then this place will be fine. If you stick with side dishes, basic meats, starches, and fried foods - and maybe sweets - you should be okay. I would not recommend eating exotic dishes such as sushi or anything terribly bougie here. You might get sick. It's seven hours later and my tummy is still a bit angry at me. I will not likely be...

I grew up in the area so I’ve been to this place for many years and it’s safe to say that every single time I come here the food somehow gets worse.

In the beginning this place was amazing. The food was great and it was of great quality and my entire family and even my Asian neighbors who introduced us to it said they loved it and went there regularly. Nowadays they haven’t been in years and as someone who loves Chinese buffets I can understand why. Came back more then I should have to give it the benefit of the doubt buuut sadly I think I’m just done with this place. I don’t know if they changed owners or what a few years back but it hasn’t been really good since around 2018, so over half a decade ago.

The rice tastes and feels old and has been cooked in a way to make make it crusty on the top somehow, the sushi bar has basically no actual sushi outside of shrimp sushi when it used to have a lot more, and overall the sprinkles for the ice cream is basically never changed from what I’ve seen of the mess those things become in some days, and the quality and selection of items has significantly declined from previous years.

Service is fine, they always immediately come to place my drink order and are always on top of it from my experiences which has a buffet waitstaff is basically all there supposed to and expected to do in my opinion. The bathrooms are filthy. If I wouldn’t sit down on the toilet unless I absolutely had to that’s a bad sign. And overall it just feels a lot more run down every time I go there

My family & I used to come here all the time. I’m not sure if they decided to get the cheaper option in food but it sure taste like it. We arrived at 11:45am which is 15 mins after opening- the food was cold. They do not clean the shrimp. It was just insanely horrible. I spoke to the manager & her first words are before I can finish either way it’s the same price. I was just letting her know we are not paying extra for left food because it was just horrible. Do you think they care? Def not, the demeanor showed it all. Not sure if they changed management or what but they do not care about the consumer at all.

Also, because I can’t reply … I can only edit… my response to your response… we left the plates of food on the table & I asked the waiter if we would be charged for leaving the food considering there is a sign to not waste food or we will be charged. Plus, it was 3 plates 🤣🤣 my plate… my fiancée & appetizers but okayyyyy. The full plates of food were left on the table! 😂😂 Taking buffet food home is not possible, so why would I even ask that? So, that’s a lie. But, your response to my review PROVES the type of business that is being ran here. It’s okay, you have to defend yourself as a business but this will show people how you respond to complaints 🙃 I wonder if management changed.
