Pastel’s — Restaurant in City of Peekskill

I went there for lunch with my granddaughter today Nov.27. I felt ignored . I was seated promptly and asked what to drink and took our order . My granddaughter ordered a cup of chicken noodle soup before her meal . Not sure if it was the bottom of the pot but there were no noodles all broth .once our meal came our waitress never came back again for anything no how is everything nothing . My soda was empty for a while never came to check on us( she wasnt busy at all even the older waitress told her to at least start cleaning ) Just stood over in the food court . When we were done I sat there for quite a while before I finally said to another waitress for the check . When my waitress gave me the check she still didn't ask how was everything or can I get you anything else not even a thank you. I went up and paid our bill and the girl that took our money never even asked how everything was or thank you for coming. I personally would not go there again I felt very unappreciated. Very sad with the world trying to come back I guess they don't need to be thankful...

Me and my wife came to get pedicures at the beach shopping center. After we wanted to get something to eat and realized there was a dinner at the shopping center. We went in and was greeted immediately and sat down. I ordered the banana pancakes because that is my diner go to. The food came out immediately and the pancakes were delicious. My wife ordered the French toast and was equally impressed. The waitress kept our coffee full and the whole vibe was great and reminded me of my younger years when I always went to the diner. The food was so good we came back the next Sunday. I got an omelette and my wife got the corned beef hash. Our coffee stayed full and the food came out just as fast as the 1st time we came. The food was delicious and this will be our new breakfast spot. We would usually drive up to cracker barrel but the local diner has better food with better prices and is in our backyard. I’ve been to pastels on numerous occasions and I’ve had great service. However, when I went in this morning for breakfast I was not happy about the comment that was made after ordering my food. Being a vegetarian, I order a lot of side dishes. When my food was brought out I asked if my hash browns were coming out soon. The comment made by the waitress was “Well I didn't think you would want the fruit AND hash browns so I didn't put it in.” First off, since when does the wait staff decide what to put in based off their assumptions. I am on the petite side so I took that very offensively. That will be my last time going to this diner and I will be sure to let friends and family know if they don’t want the waitress ordering for them to...
