I have loved Ponchitos since 2014 when I would order from their Seneca Tpk location. Huge portions, small prices, amazing taste and quality. Last night I introduced my hubby and two sons. We ordered 4 super burritos, a large nachos and cheese, and a large pintos and rice. Still huge portions, prices are a bit higher, but completely understandable considering #Covidtimes2020. You now have to order ahead over the phone and pay with your card... did not know that until we arrived. They were kind and passed menu's through the 🚪 so we could really SEE the details better. We ordered, confirmed the order (a few specifics) waited about 20 minutes -- not a problem at all-- we got home and found that they had even taken the time to label each burritos to ensure that everyone got the right one (so awesome. Wish every restaurant would do this-- without being asked [I had forgotten to ask]) However, One 🌯 was spsd to be NO RICE, it had rice. Another 🌯 was spsd to NOT have sour cream (they don't come with it normally -- you have to request it) but it had sour cream. The pintos and beans? Spectacular! The nachos? The chips were sublime. As always. They fresh fry them. The cheese? Not so great. It was extremely oily and did not taste right. I didn't know that when I called to let them know about the 🌯 issues. Which they were more than willing to correct on our next visit, not a problem. I will mention the next time I go, that the cheese sauce had "broken" and was not good. Overall experience? Mostly wonderful. We will absolutely 💯 return (they now have a location closer to my home, therfore more accessible). And, I will continue to tell EVERYONE how awesome their...
Read moreI recently moved up here FROM TEXAS. My husband grew up here and wanted me to try this establishment, many years ago he loved them. I would honestly say they are no better than Taco Bell. I can’t believe I would ever say this but Taco Bell tastes better. Their beef tacos are the exact same as TB and so are the quesadillas. I think the best thing to come out of the food I purchased were the tortilla chips, but I’m sure even those might not be made in house. Also, where’s the spice? Mexicans love spice levels, this had no taste. Even with jalapeños!
I would never waste my time coming back here. This is Americanized Mexican food, not Mexican-Mexican food. I lived in Central Tx my entire life and this restaurant wouldn’t survive a week in Texas.
The people who say this is “amazing Mexican food” have never step foot into a true Mexican restaurant or are just basing their opinions on Taco Bell. Go down to Texas and spend a week there, eat the Mexican food and the BBQ. When you come back you will think differently about this place....
Read moreWe had the Ponchitos Taqueria Food Truck come to our home as catering for a baby shower. It was a great idea and worked out perfectly. The menu was decided on ahead of time, the truck arrived early to set up and then once it was time to eat, all the guests had to do was go outside, order their food, and voila – delicious food was serviced fast & hot! We didn’t even have to worry about plates or utensils because everything was provided by Ponchitos. When their time was up the truck packed up and left and we were not left with any dirty pots or dishes to clean up. Everyone raved about the food, convenience, and overall enjoyment of the fun & new idea of having a food truck at your house. We can’t thank Ponchitos enough for the open communication during the party planning, their delivery of quality food and service, ease of having the party’s food handled and most importantly happy & full guests. We would definitely recommend them to others for a party or...
